Assuming that you don't subscribe to the misconception that strong magnification gives better views of deep-sky objects, then our Orion DeepView 35mm 2" Telescope Eyepiece should excite you. Why? Because the brightest and sharpest images of deep-space objects are obtained with low power and a wide field of view. And DeepView 2" eyepieces deliver just that.

This telescope eyepiece features anodized aluminum housings and a 3-element lens design with multi-coatings for efficient light transmission. Eye relief is 20mm — a welcome spec for eyeglass wearers — and the rubber eyeguards fold down out of the way if desired. Apparent fields of view is a generous 52-deg. Delightfully free of pincushion distortion and chromatic aberration, these telescope eyepieces will impress even the seasoned deep-sky observer. The barrels are threaded to accept 2" filters.

This is a great addition to my 2" lens set and to my veiwing pleasure. It has a very nice field of view and very very clear. Star clusters sparkle like diamonds and nebulas like the Orion M42 looked awesome adjacent to the surrounding stars which you can only see up close and personal with this eyepiece due to its expanse view. I recommend this eyepiece whole heartedly!!! Great value for the price too!

Great eyepiece. Only thing I have to say is Orion doesn't offer enough of them ....not like the 1.25 which they have plenty of. (They are) great but I'm spoiled now with the wider view of the 2 inch ....I'm new into astronomy and bought my first scope--the xt 10--and cant say enough great things about it... also just orderd the q 70 26mm eyepiece hope this one is just as nice.

Everything is great except the strong field curvature. The center and edge og the FOV will not reach focus at the same time. At an intermediate focus position I can make the whole FOV look sharp if I really strain my eyes. Some people will find this uncomfortable. Others (with young, flexible eyes) wont even notice. I think most people on a budget are better off with a 32mm plossl. Better views, and much more compact.
