My story begins with my girlfriends High School graduation. We had only been dating a few months and I didn’t know what to get her but I knew it had to be something really special because I knew that she was the one. I decided on a star. I named a star in her honor and we got all the stuff that goes along with that like the star chart showing where it was and the big poster sized document that made it all "official". The present went over amazing she loved it and I thought I had outdone myself. We had a little telescope that we tried to find her star with several times but it was an older model and didn’t have all the right parts so it never really worked out.
Fast forward several years down the road I had just finished paying off her ring and was thinking about how I was going to ask her to marry me and I got this great idea. What if I bought a really big telescope and put the ring in the eye piece. And this is where your company comes into play. I got online and without really knowing what I was doing I bought Orion SkyQuest XT8 Classic Dobsonian Telescope. I had no idea how big it was I was thinking two feet tops (the pictures on the Internet don’t do it justice). When it got here I was amazed. I took it out and everyone thought it was amazing I had never seen the sky in that way before. I was so excited about it that I gave it too her a few days before her birthday. She thought I couldn’t wait but she didn’t know the rest of the plan. She was pretty excited about it but living in town we couldn’t use it to its full potential so I suggested that we take it out to her parents on her actual birthday.
A few days later at her parents house we were having a surprise party with both of our families. Everyone was excited because they knew what was happening. After the presents had been opened I told Tamara that I was going to set up the telescope out in the yard and I had a surprise for her. Once I had her outside I told her that I had the telescope trained on "her" star. The ring was in the eye piece and I was on one knee as she bent forward to look inside. It was dark out so she didn’t see it at first she kept saying "It’s all blurry I can’t see anything." So I just kept telling her "Look in the eyepiece. Look in it." Once she saw it she just jumped back and put her hands over her mouth. I had totally surprised her. Then I asked her to marry me and she said yes.
