I Bought Nightwatch On Sale. It Cost Me Thousand$.

Since I bought Terence Dickinson's book, Nightwatch, I spent thousands of dollars on astronomy related equipment and travel. I have enjoyed every penny. Nightwatch re-introduced me to astronomy after an absence of over two decades. I was inspired by thegorgeous photographs. I learned about everything from astrophotography to zodiacal light. The book revealed the structure of the universe, how telescopes work, the phases of the moon, the movement of planets, how to choose a telescope or binoculars, and how to navigate the night sky. It provided star charts and observing lists. It is, perhaps, the best all-round introduction to astronomy I can think of. I poured through the book for hours on end, reading and browsing - and learning. While it has enough information to intrigue an adult, it is so clearly written a bright child could understand it. Before long I bought a telescope. If I had not read this book probably would have purchased a telescope that would have frustrated and disappointed me. I may have quickly lost interest in the hobby, perhaps this time forever. But because read Nightwatch, I bought an affordable instrument that thrilled me. After one clear night under a suburban sky with my new telescope I was hooked. I have since shared my enjoyment of astronomy with hundreds of people. Nightwatch showed me how.

This is a must have. This book covers EVERYTHING! Telescopes (and all their possible accessories and uses), Sky Charts (also teaches you how to find everything), Advice on purchasing, Light Pollution, The Cosmos, some mythology, covers most prominent Nebulae, Stars and Galaxies etc., Everything about our own Solar System, Photography, Etc. Trust me, I have many astronomy books, none are this comprehensive and catered for your needs.
