It's a great little device, very fast, automatically loads time, date and lat / long into the unit, alot more accurate than just city location, expecially if your out in a remote location. I found that the goto was more accurate, I mounted mine to the OTA arm instead of to the tripod so the unit moves with the OTA. (no cord wrap) although when the GPS information is down loaded into the NexStar you can remove it, I don't and just leave it plugged in, that way the clock is still working.

the skysunc gps worked right out of the box ,I plugged it in, and it synced up with my hand controler and found the coordinates right away. I love the ease of use, and will never have to input my lat-long again

Pros: just plug it in and its ready to use
Cons: cost about as much as a real gps

The new Celestron SkySync works just as advertised. It attaches quickly and easily to the tripod leg, connects to my CGEM aux port. When I turn on the mount and hit enter, it begins working on satellite sync and is usally done within a quick 10-15 seconds with the correct date, time and GPS coordinates (my Meade LX200 takes approximately 30-45 seconds to acquire a GPS lock with the LX200 GPS module). Overall it is a handy accessory to have for perfect time and GPS for astro-imaging. My only complaint is the price, it seems to be a bit more than all other competitor's GPS modules (such as Orion).
