The Orion Multiple-Filter Wheel for 1.25" Filters is a wonderfully efficient way to dial-in the telescope filter you want for observing or astrophotography. With the 5-Filter Wheel, you can change filters without removing your telescope eyepiece or camera. Just rotate the wheel with light finger pressure and the selected filter clicks into place.

Planetary observers can switch among several color filters, and deep-sky observers can compare views in "A/B" fashion through broadband and narrowband filters. Astrophotographers can shoot sequentially and without interruption through the telescope filters required for RGB and LRGB imaging — all "locked and loaded" in prominently numbered wells. Holds up to five standard 1.25" telescope filters, or one can be left out for unfiltered viewing. Anodized aluminum housing protects filters from dirt, moisture, and impact better than sliding filter tray designs.

Attaches directly to telescope via removable 1.25" nosepiece or T-thread, and accepts 1.25" accessories or camera nosepiece. Ideal for use with Orion StarShoot or Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) cameras. Requires additional 20mm focus travel.

Excellent value for the money. Works with my Meade DSI, II, III and my Imaging Source mono webcam. Detents make it easy to index the next filter. Easily user modifiable to automate with Robo Focus motor or similar USB controlled motor. Rugged cast aluminum. No internal reflections from shiny interior.

I found this product very solid in construction. The filters screwed in quite easily and the filter wheel indexed perfectly. I loaded 5 filters, red, green, yellow, blue and the 1.25 inch ultra block filter. Since I own a schmidt cass focusing was not a problem. This was a joy to use as comparison images from each filter was quick and easy. Thanks Orion for the good work. I have yet to do photography with this set up.
Yes, I recommend this product!

Be aware that, although this filter wheel is very well made and I have NO complaints there, because of the extra inward focus travel required (stated as 20mm) to compensate for the addition of the filter wheel in the light path, that far away objects are no longer able to be sharply focused, at least on my Orion 90mm F/10.1 Refractor. There simply isn't enough inward focus travel left to compensate! I am therefore unable to view Stars and Other Deep Space Objects with the filter wheel in place with my Light Pollution and Nebular Filters installed which is why I purchased it in the first place! I could barely get the mountains 20 miles away from my home in focus. I can't comment on other tubes not knowing their measurements. Orion needs to FULLY REVEAL which of their telescopes have enough focus travel for this otherwise fine item to be used, as you may get stuck with one like I did. This item should be pulled from sale until a full disclosure of the compatible products is in the product description! Just telling someone it needs 20mm more travel doesn't mean JACK to a novice! Note from Orion: Regrettably, it is not possible to provide a complete list of telescopes that are compatible with the filter wheel. Different accessories will result in wide variances in the amount of travel required. All cameras have an inconsistent amount of back focus required, whether the camera is coupled to the telescope via t-threads or a t- adapter will affect the distance from the focal plane, visual setups that use a diagonal, and wide field vs. standard eyepieces are some examples why a specific product list is not practical. When using a telescope with an external focuser you can see if there is an available 20mm of travel. Most Cassegrains have an abundance of travel and adding accessories is not usually an issue.
