You’ll go loony with delight when viewing the lunar surface with the help of our affordable Moon Madness Kit. This value-packed assortment of useful accessories lets you get the most out of each and every view of Earth’s only natural satellite.

When installed on a 1.25" telescope eyepiece, the included Orion 13% Transmission Moon Filter will bring out considerably more lunar surface details thanks to the boosted contrast. Not only will more surface features and details pop out, but you can study them in greater comfort, thanks to Moon Filter reducing overall brightness without altering color. This neutral-density telescope eyepiece filter reduces irradiation, which is the distortion at the boundary between light and dark areas, such as along the lunar terminator. Using a Moon filter also helps conserve dark-adapted vision while viewing the lunar surface, especially when using big telescopes with 6" of aperture and larger.

A twist of the housing of the included 7-21mm Orion Explorer II Zoom Telescope Eyepiece changes the focal length from 21mm to 7mm, or to any focal length in between. That makes it ideal for scanning the entire Moon at low magnification, then zooming in at higher magnifications for closer inspection of cratered areas - without changing eyepieces! Actual magnification range will depend on the focal length of your telescope. This four-lens telescope eyepiece boasts fully coated optics and exceptionally long eye relief ranging from 33mm to 16mm for comfortable views. Apparent field of view is 30° at 21mm and 43° at 7mm. A rubber traction ring ensures a good grip and easy zoom adjustment. The 1.25" barrel is threaded for filters, so you can install the Moon Filter for great lunar views .

The included high-power 6.3mm Sirius Plossl telescope eyepiece offers a wide 52° apparent field of view, ideal for high-magnification Moon viewing. The 6.3mm Orion Sirius Plossl Telescope Eyepiece yields extremely sharp scenes with impressively high contrast, and it’s ideal for all types of telescopes: reflector, refractor, and catadioptric. The Plossl 4-element eyepiece design is renowned for its outstanding performance, and is threaded for use with 1.25” filters such as the included Moon Filter.

The included bi-fold Moon map makes it easy to identify craters and other lunar features you see on the Moon with your telescope. The Moon map is laminated for use on damp evenings. Put on the included Orion AstroGoggles and wear them for a half-hour or so before you use your telescope to help your eyes adapt to the darkness of the night sky.

Each of the products in the kit is exceptional. The Moon Map is very detailed and great for identifying many of the features on the surface. The 6.3mm Sirius Plossl eyepiece is a great addition to my eyepiece collection and brings the features so close you would swear you were on an Apollo mission orbiting the moon. The zoom eyepiece lets you get as close or as far away as you want and operates very smoothly. And all of this is possible because of the included moon filter which is a must when viewing the moon. I have yet to use the goggles, but I am sure I will soon. An awesome value for the money. I highly recommend this bundle for anyone wanting to view the moon.

the Zoom eye piece work great, Jupiter's rings came in soooo close. in my 8" telescope the best I 've ever seen. I got to look into the moon mountains and craters even closer. the book you had in the kit realy good but could have larger fonts @ night. the filter is great for look @ the full moon, like it. the eye piece it great for working inside when you forgot some thing, but not good for telescope outside work. all and all the kid is great! price is good too.
