This handy bracket lets you attach the Orion SkyLine Deluxe Green Laser Pointer (GLP) to your telescope for use as a high-tech aiming device!

The dual-ring ABS Orion SkyLine Deluxe Laser Pointer-to-Telescope Bracket holds the Green Laser Pointer and allows for precise alignment with the main telescope so you can use the SkyLine green laser beam to aim your instrument. The spring-loaded X-Y adjustment thumbscrews enable quick alignment of the SkyLine Deluxe Green Laser Pointer with the telescope. The Pointer-to-Telescope bracket's dovetail foot fits the finder scope base of most Orion telescopes. Additional dovetail bases are sold separately if you wish to add the SkyLine as a secondary aiming device, or for installation on other brands of telescope.

The Orion SkyLine Deluxe GLP-to-Telescope Bracket makes pointing any telescope super easy. After a simple initial alignment procedure is completed, the green beam shows exactly where your telescope is aimed. Just maneuver the telescope until the beam is pointing where you want to observe, and you’re set. No need to crouch in odd positions to peer through a standard finder scope!

Bracket includes an On/Off thumbscrew collar for the GLP, which allows continuous On functionality while you align on your target object.

SkyLine Green Laser Pointer sold separately.

The Best Finder

A GLP on this bracket used in combination with binoculars is far superior to any conventional finderscope. You just locate the celestial object with the binos and move the scope so that you can see the laser beam pointing to that object in the binos. Nomore of the crouching, neck or back aches, and confusion associated with traditional finders. Using a GLP, I found in one session two DSOs that had eluded me for months! This GLP to telescope bracket does its job well. My only complaint - a minor one - is that the small set screws on the on/off collar damaged the enamel on my laser pointer. But to be fair, my LP is not an Orion. (It looks like the Skyline Deluxe doesn't have any enameled parts.) Still, it would have been nice if the set screws were made of some less abrasive material such as nylon, like the larger screws on the same bracket. All in all, a nice product!

I did not use the included collar because I purchased a laser with a on/off switch. The collar is designed to be used with the pen laser which is very awkward to attach. I teach high school level astronomy and I like to use a pen laser when observing the night sky with my students but not mounted to the telescope. Overall this is a good product at a good price. I could not find this bracket anywhere else so this makes it an excellent value.

Thread striped and switch assmbly unusable. must operate by hand
now. Can not be repaired. Anlignement bracket or mount out of alingement with telescope tube. light will not come close to centering in bracket. Will try to repair by glueing nut on to on/off ring to overcome striped threads....
Cons: must design change
No, I do not recommend this product.

It used to take me anywhere from a minute to 10 minutes to find things in the nights sky because I could not figure out where my scope was pointed. I also would have to bend my aching back in strange positions to aim my scope. Then I bought a green laser and this bracket. I literally found 10 objects in 10 minutes the first time I used it. Just put in a widefield eyepiece, aim the laser using a starmap and there is your object. This has replaced the finders that came with both of my telescopes. Highly recommended!
