Take beautiful astrophotos through any telescope with your iPhone! With the Orion SteadyPix Telescope Photo Adapter for iPhone, anyone with a telescope and an iPhone can easily take stunning pictures of the night sky.

The SteadyPix iPhone Photo Adapter securely couples an iPhone 4S, 4, 3GS, 3G, or original iPhone to a 1.25” telescope eyepiece so you can take high-magnification pictures through the telescope using the iPhone’s built-in camera. The sturdy, steel adapter bracket allows the iPhone’s camera lens to be positioned directly over the 1.25” telescope eyepiece eye lens for afocal eyepiece-projection photography. Since the iPhone camera is positioned right where your eye would be, it’s easy for anyone to start taking pictures of night sky wonders, no matter how experienced or inexperienced you are in the hobby of astrophotography.

At night, capture high-resolution images of the Moon’s cratered surface and take astrophotographic snapshots of bright and interesting planets like ringed Saturn and gigantic Jupiter. With practice and a bit of patience, you can even capture images of some bright deep-space objects and the International Space Station (really)!

The fun doesn’t stop at sunrise either. Use the SteadyPix iPhone adapter during daylight hours with a refractor or Cassegrain telescope to take superb high-magnification snapshots of distant wildlife and scenery. With a properly sized solar filter attached to any telescope, you can take daytime snapshots of broiling sunspots on our nearest star with your iPhone.

Another great feature of the Orion SteadyPix Telescope Photo Adapter is how it lets you display a live view of the image projected by your telescope on your iPhone screen. Now you can share beautiful real-time views of the night sky with friends and family by using your iPhone as a mini telescope display monitor! No more lining up to wait for your chance to view, everyone can observe at the same time when using an attached iPhone as a cool mini display screen. The SteadyPix iPhone Photo Adapter can also attach your iPhone to a photo tripod for steady wide-field pictures without a telescope.

The Orion SteadyPix Telescope Phot Adapter for iPhone includes a felt-lined steel eyepiece clamp that fits standard 1.25” telescope eyepieces with housing diameters up to 1.5”. A larger clamp for bigger eyepiece housings is sold separately (see suggested accessories).

For best results, you may need to remove your iPhone’s protective case before installing in the SteadyPix Telescope Photo Adapter.

I'm disappointed this iPhone adapter wasn't easily engineered to accomodate ANY SmartPhone... an OverSight... on Orion's part. Simply trying to suggest improvements to the line of quality products.
Cons: improvements needed...
Yes, I recommend this product!

After some adjustment and familiarization with the product I was able to grab an excellent pic of the Moon and a very satisfying pic of Saturn on a fair seeing night. Yes it does take some patience to center the IPhone lens, especially on smaller apertures. This is a nice, easy, and inexpensive start into astrophotography.
Favorite viewing location:??My front yard
Favorite object to observe:??Jupiter, Moon
Pros: strudy construction, inexpensive
Cons: limited lens size
Yes, I recommend this product!

Works nice after you get used to set up. Very nice to have when you have more people around wanting to see in your telescope. Don't have to worry about hands touching what they shouldn't. Everyone can see a nice view of what you are looking at. Good for some sample astrophotograghy. Take a photo and email to a friend else where so they can get a look on a good night. Never know when you are going to get that extra special photo.
Favorite viewing location:??Central Ohio
Favorite object to observe:??Saturn, Jupiter, deep space, etc.
Pros: nice addition, keeps hands off equipment, everyone can see what you are observing
Yes, I recommend this product!

I was excited to get one of these for Christmas and try it out on my scope for some digiscoping action (wildlife). Unfortunately, the adapters don't fit over my zoom eyepiece (common for wildlife). I will keep hold of it - haven't tried it on my astronomy scope yet - but it was disappointing. It wouldn't take much to add another adapter (zoom eyepieces are common) or make the one provided a bit more forgiving...
On a positive note, the build quality seems to be very good.
Pros: build quality
Cons: doesn't fit zoom eyepieces
No, I do not recommend this product.
