Orion 6in. f/5.0 Newtonian Imaging Reflector Telescope Optical Tube
With its large 6-inch (150mm) parabolic mirror, the included Orion 6-inch f/5 Imaging Reflector has been optimized to fully illuminate the imaging chip of Orion StarShoot Pro Deep Space Color Imaging Camera V2.0, rendering exquisite detail even with short exposures. Added tube length in front of the secondary mirror blocks glare for improved contrast. Images are virtually coma-free and, of course, there's no chromatic aberration. The 6-inch Imaging Reflector focuser is a low-profile, 2-inch Crayford style design made of machined, anodized aluminum and is equipped with both coarse and fine (11:1) focus controls. A 1.25-inch compression ring adapter and a dovetail base for an Orion finder scope.

Orion Sirius EQ-G GoTo Mount and Tripod
With its computerized GoTo system and hand controller, the included Orion Sirius EQ-G mount and tripod is ideal for virtually any astrophotographic applications. The internal dual-axis stepper motors slew your telescope at up to 3.4-degrees per second, and keep the target object centered for extended exposures, so deep-space objects will reveal more colorful and dynamic features. The Orion Sirius EQ-G mount includes an illuminated polar-axis telescope, 8.3-inch dovetail mounting bar, and one 11-lb. counterweight. The tripod is remarkably sturdy, as evidenced by the 1.75-inch diameter stainless steel legs and cast-metal spreader plate. The mount requires a 12-volt DC power source, like our Orion Dynamo Pro, or an AC-to-DC adapter for GoTo operation and motorized tracking.

Orion StarShoot Pro V2.0 Deep Space Color Imaging Camera
Our enhanced Orion StarShoot Pro V2.0 Deep Space Color CCD brings cooled, multi-megapixel color imaging into the realm of never-before-seen affordability. Its Sony 6.1-megapixel color Charge Coupled Device (CCD) chip boasts a 3032 x 2016 pixel array in a 25.10mm x 17.64mm format. That gives the Pro V2.0 6.5-times the image area and over four times the pixels as similarly priced astro CCD cameras. The Pro's square 7.8 micron pixel size provides an excellent balance between high resolution and sensitivity. With some cameras in cooler weather conditions, condensation can form on the surface of the optical window, due to the temperature of the optical window being affected by the cooled CCD. Our enhanced V2.0 design prevents this by virtue of increased distance between the CCD chip and the optical window. You get detail-rich shots with enough resolution to make large format color prints!

The StarShoot Pro V2.0 is thermoelectrically cooled to dramatically reduce thermal noise. A small fan on the back enhances cooling efficiency even more. Thermoelectric cooling can be manually shut off via software control, to eliminate dew in extreme outdoor conditions. Software control also enables fan speed regulation. The Pro's 16-bit dynamic range gives it a leg-up on most Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) cameras, which offer 10- to 14-bit A/D conversion. Made in Canada, the StarShoot Pro V2.0 also features 2x2 binning and high-speed USB 2.0 connectivity for speedy Astro-image downloading. Maxim DL Essentials software is included for total control of focusing, image capture, and image processing. Power is supplied via a single 12-volt DC cigarette lighter plug on a 10 foot cable. All this comes neatly packed in a custom hard carrying case.

Precise guiding is an absolute requirement to get pinpoint star images, especially when imaging complex deep space objects. With the included Orion Awesome AutoGuider Refractor Package, tracking accuracy is easily optimized so your images will showcase pinpoint star clarity.
