Excellent product! Quite affordable and efficient, it's nice for the whole family to be able to enjoy whatever is under the lens up on the computer screen . It's almost like being in a forensic lab. The only "minor" drawback is the fact that one cannot view 3-dimensional objects, such as an insect, because the lens needs to be quite close to the stage in order to be in proper focus. Albeit, I highly recommended this product for the whole family knowing you will never run out of interesting things to see and new worlds to explore...

The microscope itself was not too bad, but the digital camera was very disappointing. It would not focus on the fixed stage-height, and required two blank slides under the subject slide to elevate it into focal range, which permitted only low-power viewing. Also, the software was not what as advertised in the online catalog, and had conflicts with Windows XP. I returned the item after just a few days.

I purchased the Ultimate 400x Digital Microscope for use by myself and my two kids (ages 10 & 12). We have been very happy with it. Even at its maximum magnification, it focuses sharp and clear. We have played around with things like making our own human blood smear and the red blood cells are easily visible and identifiably. Having the display on the computer is wonderful so we can all look at it at one time and point to things. I think it is a great value for the price.
