Other Camera:
Canon 300D (modified with Baader UV/IR filter) Processing: Photoshop Exposure: 4 x 1/500 Other Equipment Used: Hutech IDAS LPS filter Notes: This image is a stack of 4 iso400 1/500th images. Cropped to make subjects larger for submission. Taken under breezy skies with the jet-stream overhead. Even the Jovian bands are visible in the full-size 8 and 16bit versions (just barely, but visible, indeed!).
I am very happy with this little 80mm refractor. Barely perceptable CA on very bright stars (after 300s exposure!) - no CA with visual or short exposures, using 40mm and 20mm 70deg FoV Explore Scientific eyepieces. Can't wait to try some tricolor with this scope!
In the Orion ED80 Apo Refractor, images appear extremely sharp with no false color. This telescope is suited for viewing both planetary and deep-sky objects as well as for astrophotography. Perfect for the intermediate observer or astrophotographer.
