Orion StarShoot Solar System Color Imaging Camera IV Processing: Registax 6 and Photoshop Exposure: 1280 x 1024 @ 15fps Notes: Jupiter image captured Jan 10, 2013 during Ganymede shadow transit. Ganymede is the moon closest to Jupiter in this image with its shadow on Jupiter. To the right of Ganymede is Io, and far to the left of Jupiter is Europa. (Beneath Saturn) Saturn was captured June 9, 2013 and layered into this image to simulate a conjunction of the two gas giants. Both taken from my backyard with the same setup of hardware.
Astro-images taken through a telescope on a tracking mount provide breathtaking color and detail that you just can't see with your eyes alone. The astro-images on our web site demonstrate the imaging capabilities of the products used and are not intended to represent what you will see when you look through a telescope.
