The VersaGo II HD is a wonderfully simple and practical "grab-and-go" altazimuth mount for terrestrial and casual celestial viewing with small to medium-size telescopes. Its affordable price belies its smart design, simple elegance, and sturdy, metal construction. It is a great mount for anyone seeking a stable, uncomplicated telescope platform that is nicely portable.

The VersaGo II HD differs from the standard VersaGo II in having a heavier duty tripod that features 1.75"-diameter tubular legs made of chromed steel. While both mounts can support the same load, the HD model is your best choice for absolute stability when using telescopes weighing close to the mount's 15-lb. capacity.

The mount features a sturdy, die-cast metal single-arm altazimuth head that allows simple and intuitive up-down, left-right operation. PTFE thrust bearings on both axes ensure smooth, fluid gliding motion and oversize tensioning knobs and a rubber grip panning handle provide extremely fine positioning and control, even for tracking moving subjects.

Because the laterally offset mounting arm places the telescope center of gravity over the center of the tripod and not off to the side, the VersaGo II HD offers maximum stability for spotting scopes, small astronomical refractors up to 120mm, Cassegrains and short reflectors up to 6" in aperture, or DSLR and video cameras. No counterweights are needed. The slanted arm design allows telescopes to point directly to the zenith.

A dovetail saddle allows quick mounting and removal of your telescope. The cast metal tripod spreader doubles as an accessory tray and has holes to accommodate 1.25" telescope eyepieces.

The VersaGo II HD weighs only 18.5 lbs., and the adjustable height tripod legs can be folded inward for easy transport. Just grab it and go! Total mount length is 47.5" with legs retracted and 63" when extended.
