With our Orion LaserMate Deluxe Laser Collimator, not only will you get perfect alignment (also called collimation) of your reflector telescope’s optics, but you will get it faster. Reason being the LaserMate Deluxe Collimator’s “rear-view” port, built right in to the collimating tool’s housing.

With a standard laser collimator, collimation is at least a two-step process. You may have to move back and forth multiple times from the front of the reflector telescope to the back to achieve collimation when using a standard laser collimating tool, since you have to visually check each collimation adjustment by carefully looking down the front of the telescope. If the adjustment is not sufficient, you must make additional adjustments until your reflector telescope’s optics are properly aligned.

Collimation becomes a simple, one-step procedure with the Orion LaserMate Deluxe Laser Telescope Collimator. A “rear-view” port in the LaserMate Deluxe housing lets you see both the emitted and return laser beams while standing at the rear of the telescope, where the primary mirror adjustment screws are located. You just tweak the collimation bolts on your reflector telescope’s primary mirror cell until the laser beams overlap, and you’re done! Your reflector’s optics will be aligned and ready to provide you with sharp, crisp views of the cosmos. 

Ideal for use with any Newtonian reflector telescope, including Dobsonian reflectors, the LaserMate Deluxe works especially well in telescopes with focal ratios of f/5 or lower. Precise collimation is critical in order to achieve a clean, crisp view through the telescope, especially in optically fast f/5 and lower reflectors.

The Orion LaserMate Deluxe fits in any 1.25” telescope focuser, or in any step-down 2”-to-1.25” adapter for use in 2” reflector telescope focusers. Measuring just 4” long, the Orion LaserMate Deluxe can be easily stashed in your accessory case without taking up too much space, leaving plenty of room for other astronomy gear goodies.

The Orion LaserMate Deluxe Laser Telescope Collimator includes one CR2032 battery, mirror center mark label, and instructions.
