The beauty of a big truss tube Dob is that it can be disassembled into conveniently sized components for easy transport. And transporting the SkyQuest XX14 will be much easier, and the components much better protected, with this set of cases designed just for the XX14. The set includes three cases plus a secondary mirror cover. Each case is made of durable, waterproof, 600-denier polyester/nylon material with a urethane coating and a 100% nylon lining, and double stitched for extra strength. There are separate padded cases for the upper and lower optical tube sections as well as a case for the truss poles. The poles slip into separate compartments to prevent direct contact among them. The lower tube case also has a zippered pocket to hold accessories. All the cases have carrying handles. Lastly, the soft nylon secondary mirror "sock" is included to keep the mirror free of dust when the scope is idle. Keep your SkyQuest XX14 Truss Tube Dob looking like new and get it to your observing site more easily and securely with this set of custom cases. Made in the U.S.A.

XX14i Padded Cases

The padded cases work well and are easy to load. The strut case is well designed. Areas for improvement. The primary case could benefit from a second set of handles set close to the case on either side. The current straps are adequate but make for an awkward one man carry. The secondary and primary cases could benefit with a bit more padding.

I bought the Orion Case set for the SkyQuest XX14i, and I'm so glad I did. I keep the telescope in the cases when not being used to protect it from the Arizona dust, and my dog's hair, damage when transporting, and last but not least...Spiders. Each case is a perfect fit for the intended piece, with ample room to manuvere. The zippers are well made, and the fabric is strong with sturdy seams. I would recommend these cases to anyone purchasing this wonderful telescope.

I was so thrilled to receive my SkyQuest XX14i Intelliscope, and as I began to think of all the hazards like dust, my dog and his hair, and most importantly Spiders, I decided I needed to have the cases for the ultimate protection for this wonderful instrument. The cases fit each part of the scope beautifully with ample room for manuvering the item into position. The zippers work easily and the fabric is strong. The handles are well placed for balanced carrying, and I feel that my XX14i is well protected. I would recommend these cases to anyone wishing to have the ultimate protection for their XX14i
