1 This intermediate telescope provides views that are bright, clear and sharp. The heavy-duty German Equatorial mount and tripod are very sturyd and the slow motion controls help you to accurately track objects in the sky.

I purchased the Omni XLT 102 to replace a 13" dobsonian I sold a few years ago. The dob was a pain to set up, hard to find objects with and tough to track once they were found. There is also too much light pollution where I live so I had it stopped down to 8" anyway. After much research I decided on the Omni XLT 102 based on price, portability, overall features, and use in light polluted areas. I also wanted a mount with RA and DEC controls so I bought the XLT 102.
Well, after suffering for 10 days with overcast skies, I finally had a chance to use my new scope. The seeing was not very good and clouds rolled in and out but there was some good clearing at times.
I wasted no time and went right for Saturn. The image rivaled my 13" dob in size and brightness but the clarity was just amazing. Seeing was bad so the Cassini division was in and out, but bands on the planet and 5 moons were easily spotted.
Then on to Mizar and Alcor...split them beautifully...pinpoint sharp! I was also able to get to the M13 cluster, but seeing was very bad by then so it was not much more than a fuzzy patch going in and out as clouds rolled by.
The operation of the scope was amazing. The mount is very solid and the RA and DEC controls are smooth. The focuser was smooth and the image steadied very quickly in the eyepiece. I was using the 25mm it came with, an Orion 9mm Ultra wide, and a Meade 6mm plossil and all worked fine and provided crisp views. A lot of people complain about the finderscope, but once I got it aligned, it worked very well. I could go right to my 9mm eyepiece from the finderscope! I guess a right angle prism diagonal would be nice on the finderscope, but it works fine as is. This is a very fine instrument for the price. I'm very happy with the quality and workmanship in this scope and would recommend it to anyone.
Yes, I recommend this product!
