To properly balance heavier telescopes and astrophotography setups on the Atlas Pro AZ/EQ-G Mount, an extra counterweight or two may be needed. Properly balanced payloads ensure smooth tracking and panning, and help to optimize motorized functions such as computerized GoTo pointing.

This 11lb. counterweight for our Orion Atlas Pro AZ/EQ-G Mount has an attractive powder-coat finish and features a nylon-tipped lock knob which will not scratch the counterweight shaft. The tri-lobe lock knob is easy to tighten and loosen, even while wearing gloves in the field.
