Double your viewing pleasure with the portable two-telescope Orion SkyView Mini Altazimuth Mount! Featuring not one, but two dovetail saddles, our SkyView Mini Altazmith Mount allows you to attach two lightweight telescopes in tandem while precise slow-motion control knobs on both the altitude and azimuth axes make it easy to fine-tune your aim. The smooth slow-motion controls also let you precisely track celestial objects manually as they appear to move across the sky, even when viewing at high power magnification.

Using the SkyView Mini AltAz is a great way to increase observing efficiency by aiming two telescopes at the same area of sky. Attach a high-power compact Maksutov-Cassegrain telescope on one side and a wide-field, optically fast refractor telescope on the other to view the same area of sky in high magnification and at lower power!

The mount’s rugged, metal construction provides a stable foundation, and the stainless steel tripod adjusts from 25” to 44” in height for versatile use. The two dovetail saddles accept narrow, “Vixen-style” dovetail mounting plates, and the mount is capable of supporting equipment weighing up to 24 lbs total. Weighs 12 lbs. 5.6 oz.

This device is a good idea. However, it is poorly thought out and poorly executed. Problems that I had are:
1) The tripod is too low. Even with a very low stool it is not possible to see through right angle eyepieces of short telescopes without bending way over into a very uncomfortable position.
2) The dovetail plates cannot be made parallel. The field of view of a high magnification telescope does not appear within the FOV of a wide angle telescope.
3) The fine motion controls have problems with binding.
4) Backlash is severe both in azimuth and elevation. The slightest touch of the telescopes - for example in trying to focus - will cause the apparatus to swing, and bounce, back and forth through large angles. Achieving good focus is nearly impossible.
In my opinion this product should be withdrawn from the catalog. I hope that a much better engineered product takes its place.
Cons: keep clear of this product.
No, I do not recommend this product.
