Mfg Model #  27188

Take the tabletop Orion SkyScanner 100mm reflector telescope beyond the confines of your backyard table with this complete setup that includes a sturdy field tripod and high-power eyepiece.

Even if there isn’t a table at your favorite observing spot, you can use the tripod-equipped SkyScanner 100mm reflector telescope to obtain great views of celestial curiosities. What’s more, this value-packed bundle includes a powerful 6.3mm telescope eyepiece in addition to the 10mm and 25mm eyepieces included with the standard SkyScanner 100 without tripod. The 6.3mm eyepiece allows you to inspect night-sky objects up-close as it provides 63.5x power magnification when used with the SkyScanner 100mm reflector telescope. You’ll be able to study the cratered surface of the Moon at high-power and see details on bright planets that wouldn’t be acheivable with lower-power eyepieces. The included field tripod is adjustable with a height range of 20” to 34.5” so you can position the SkyScanner 100mm reflector for comfortable views in the field. The tripod provides the attached SkyScanner telescope with a height range of approximately 35” (2.9’) to 50” (4.1”) for comfortable views in the field. The tripod also features an extendable elevator column for additional height adjustment to add to its crowd-pleasing performance.

Although it’s a perfect telescope choice for beginning stargazers, the Orion SkyScanner 100mm TableTop Reflector is no toy! It is just the right size for beginners and more experienced amateur astronomers looking for a portable yet capable telescope to use for night sky exploration. Its 100mm (3.9”) aperture reflecting optics are large enough in diameter to see a multitude of night sky objects, yet the SkyScanner 100 telescope is compact enough to be carried outside easily by anyone in the family. This compact reflector collects over 200 times more light than the unaided eye! The petite reflector telescope’s wide field of vision is ideal for observing the Moon night after night and can also catch glimpses of more distant targets such as the spectacular rings of Saturn and cloud belts of Jupiter without having to leave town. Under darker, more remote skies where the included field tripod will no doubt come in handy, the SkyScanner 100mm has enough light-gathering power to reveal fainter objects deep in the Milky Way and even some brighter galaxies and star clusters. This well-appointed reflecting telescope comes complete with 100mm parabolic primary mirror optics made of glass not plastic, three 1.25" eyepieces, and an EZ finder II reflex sight to aid in aiming.

The SkyScanner 100mm Reflector and Tripod Bundle doesn’t require a tabletop to provide you and your family with beautiful views of the night sky. All you need is a clear sky and a curious mind!

I'd always wanted a telescope and this is the first one I've ever used. I watched the helpful videos on the site to determine which one was right for me. I love this telescope. It's exactly what I wanted. Setting it up on the tripod is a snap, it's light weight and very stable. The views are amazing. The 6.3mm eyepiece is perfect for Jupiter and getting up close to the Moon. I can't believe the detail I can see.
I think I made the right choice in my first telescope. I have no complaints about it at all.

I have never in my life owned a telescope, and I don't remember ever even looking into a telescope. I decided to get this package because it looked simple, portable and easy to use. I was not disappointed! It took me less than 5 minutes to set it up and get going. I really am enjoying this telescope and so are my 7 year old daughters. We look forward to night time so we can explore the moon and find planets and stars. This is endless entertainment for us and I could not be happier with everything from start to finish. Fast delivery, excellent product, and 3 very happy totally amateur telescope users!
Favorite viewing location:??Our favorite place to view is right in our backyard. For some areas the table works best, but then we can move to the middle of the yard for other perspectives. We live in a small rural town so we have a great view of the sky!
Favorite object to observe:??We like to look at the moon in it's different phases, and we have also begun to pick out planets as the girls learn about them in school.
Pros: easy setup i mean easy easy setup, the orion ez finder is a life saver, it is easy to use and kid friendly, the tripod is really stable and good quality, the tripod or table top option covers the bases, 15 minutes after opening i was rolling, and we love this telescope!

I bought this as a Christmas present for my daughter since she loves astronomy. This was her first telescope. She had a 7x42 binoculars before. The telescope itself was good but the eyepieces were showing false colors around the edges and the tripod was pretty shaky. Great Telescope. Okay Optics
