I chose the build a scope option because it was the cheapest way to get an xt6i with the accesories i wanted
i was able to add a 9x50 raci finder, and buy an accesory kit, for wich the value of the barlow and lunar filter alone make it worth every cent with the build a scope discounts, the optical quality on this telescope is excelent .
i have seen M5, M3, and even the sombrero galaxy with this scope , with near zero dark adaptation tbh, if that say anything about the quality of the optics on these scopes.
the base is very easy to put together, but OPEN EVERY PACKAGE, EVEN THE INTELLISCOPE CONTROLLER BOX, there are addendums there that are not included in manual and must be followed during assembly for everything to work kosher , the base is sturdy, movement is smooth on both axis , altitude friction is adjustable, azimuth is not but you shouldn't need it
all in all , excellent purchase, you might wanna got he build a scope route if you plan to also order accesories , they give extra discounts for a lot of things (accesory kit is 20 bucks cheaper for example)
