I considered buying the XT8 instead of the XT10 but I am happy that I decided on the XT10. I purchased this with the 6mm edge-on planetary eyepiece, the 26mm Q70 eyepiece, the 2" crayford-style focser, and the EZ finder II (which I later switched for a 9x50 finder scope). When it arrived, it took about 10-15 minutes to assemble the base. On the first clear night I got amazing views of saturn and its moons. I was also able to see tons of detail on our moon. I got remarkable views of the orion nebula and the andromeda galaxy. Im sure this scope is capable of providing astounding views of all the messier objects and more. It was definitely worth the extra money to get the XT10 instead of the XT8. The only downside to this scope is that it is hard to transport. You can carry it all in one piece but it is very difficult because of the shape and weight. You have to take the tube off of the base in order to move it.
Favorite viewing location:??The mountains
Favorite object to observe:??Everything
Pros: great optics, large aperture
Cons: hard to transport
Yes, I recommend this product!
