Item #  10026

This remarkably clever Dobsonian reflector telescope combines powerful 150mm-diameter (6") reflecting optics with point-and-view simplicity in one surprisingly portable package. With the included IntelliScope Computerized Object Locator system, even novice stargazers and their families can pinpoint the location of over 14,000 interesting celestial wonders stored in the computerized IntelliScope hand controller's databank. Using the Orion SkyQuest XT6i IntelliScope Dobsonian is like having your own personal tour guide to the universe!

Intelliscope Dob Chart

Using the "push-to" Orion IntelliScope system is easy. Once a simple alignment procedure is completed, you just select an object to observe using the Computerized Object Locator's illuminated menu buttons (Galaxies, Clusters, Nebulas, etc.), or choose a pre-set tour of the best objects to view, then press the Enter button. The IntelliScope's high-resolution, 9,216-step digital encoders will then tell you how to manually direct the SkyQuest XT6i Dobsonian right to the object, placing it squarely in the telescope eyepiece.

The Orion SkyQuest XT6i Computerized IntelliScope houses a big 150mm parabolic mirror with 80% more light grasp than a 4.5" mirror, for brighter, more detailed views of night sky curiosities. The streamlined Dobsonian telescope base offers unflinching stability yet easy portability. While the telescope may appear bulky, it is actually quite easily portable, since it can be separated into two main sections: the optical tube, and the Dobsonian base.

The SkyQuest XT6i IntelliScope Dobsonian telescope comes equipped with a smooth 1.25" rack-and-pinion focuser, removable telescope eyepiece rack, handy navigation knob for easy pointing, two Plossl telescope eyepieces (25mm and 10mm focal lengths), and a nice 6x30 right-angle correct-image finder scope. With accessories like these included, you're ready for night after night of family stargazing fun right out of the box!

When you use your XT6i IntelliScope Dobsonian telescope with the Computerized Object Locator you and your family will find out just how fun a smarter, well-made beginner's telescope can be. It's sure to open up imaginations to the wonders of the universe, and establish a lifelong appreciation of the great hobby of amateur astronomy.
