We love our TableTop telescopes, but if there isn't a table nearby when you want to stargaze with one, we now provide our Orion GoScope 80mm TableTop Refractor Telescope bundled with a sturdy field tripod so you can gaze at stars anywhere!
This ultra-compact, entry-level refractor makes a great quality first telescope for beginning stargazers. But it's not just for newbies - the GoScope 80 refractor's convenient size makes it a true "grab-and-go" telescope, perfect for the mobile interests of more experienced amateurs. With an 80mm objective lens and 350mm focal length (f/4.3), the GoScope 80 refractor is best for wide angle, low power "sweeping" across the night sky. The GoScope 80 telescope performs rather impressively for its modest size, collecting over 30% more light than its 70mm counterpart, and over 70% more light than a 60mm refractor. The included 20mm (17.5x), 10mm (35x), and 6.3mm (55.5x) 1.25" telescope eyepieces will aid in your exploration of the solar system as you observe the Moon's craters and seas, the rings of Saturn, and the moons of Jupiter. As you scan the Milky Way, you'll also delight in open and globular star clusters, as well as a nebula or two. Taking the pleasantly portable Orion GoScope 80mm Refractor Telescope and Tripod Bundle to a dark-sky site with inky-black skies will allow you to discern more details on deep sky objects.
The included Orion EZ Finder II red-dot sight makes it "EZ" to aim the telescope.
Following a simple alignment procedure that parents can help with, you can use the EZ Finder II sight to accurately aim the GoScope 80mm TableTop telescope at objects in the sky like the Moon and bright planets. Once aligned with the telescope, just turn on the EZ Finder II and peer through the sight's small circular viewing window so you see the red dot, and move the telescope until the red dot is on the object you want to see to place it in the reflector's field of view.
Use the included 20mm and 10mm eyepieces for differently magnified views.
Every night you use the GoScope 80mm, start with the 20mm eyepiece to see a nice and wide view with 17.5x magnification. Once you've centered and object in the 20mm eyepiece, you can boost the magnification up to 35x by using the 10mm eyepiece. Using both the 20mm and 10mm included eyepieces gives you a variety of magnifications to stargaze with, and you can purchase other 1.25" eyepieces to use with the GoScope 80mm telescope as you advance in the hobby.
Take a closer look with the included 6.3mm E-Series eyepiece.
The value-packed Orion GoScope 80mm Refractor and Tripod Bundle also includes a 6.3mm Orion E-Series eyepiece, which provides a powerful, 55.5x view in the 350mm focal length 80mm refractor telescope. Use this extremely high-power ocular to go after high-magnification views of lunar crater details, bright planets, star clusters, and more.
Use the included 90° star diagonal for comfortable views of the night sky.
A diagonal "bends" the light path of a telescope so you can enjoy the view without having to contort yourself into awkward positions to peer into the eyepiece. The 90° star diagonal that comes with the GoScope 80mm TableTop Telescope yields bright images and provides a comfortable right-angle viewing orientation for nighttime stargazing of the skies above.
No table nearby? No problem! Use the included tripod to observe anywhere.
This value-packed bundle includes a handy field tripod, which is adjustable with a height range of 20" to 34.5" so you can position the GoScope 80mm refractor telescope comfortably for viewing without a table. The tripod also features an extendable elevator column for crowd-pleasing performance, providing viewers of different heights with comfortable views.
