Orion Observer 70mm Altazimuth Refractor Telescope
Canon Power Shot SD 630 Digital Camera Other Equipment Used: Orion Sirius Plossl 20mm Notes: My interest in astronomy sparked with my accidental first view of the Orion Nebula through a small 4 1/2 inch telescope. Since then, I've turned to Orion for my telescopes and accessories. One of my best techniques for observing is sketching. I believe that you can see much more detail in objects if you take the time to sketch them. I own and maintain an astronomy blog.
Astro-images taken through a telescope on a tracking mount provide breathtaking color and detail that you just can't see with your eyes alone. The astro-images on our web site demonstrate the imaging capabilities of the products used and are not intended to represent what you will see when you look through a telescope.
This is a great beginner telescope for all ages. The sturdy tripod and Altazimuth mount allow easy movement and tracking for daytime and nighttime viewing. The 70mm allows you to see objects brighter and in more detail than the 60mm.
