This versatile aluminum dovetail base is designed to accept any Orion finder scope bracket or EZ Finder reflex sight bracket. It’s an ideal base for custom installation of a finder scope on telescopes not already equipped with a compatible base. The Orion Dovetail Base for Finder Scopes features a large thumbscrew lock to secure the finder scope bracket in place. Thanks to the size of the knurled thumbscrews, you can easily attach and detach your finder device, even when wearing heavy gloves.

The Orion Dovetail Base for Finder Scopes is designed for use on any telescope optical tube except for Schmidt-Cassegrain models. The dovetail base makes it easy to install a finder scope, or an additional finder, to any diameter refractor, reflector, Dobsonian reflector and Maksutov-Cassegrain telescope tubes. Includes mounting hardware.

The included mounting screws and nuts mounted this base securely to my tube. I was able to use existing holes from a previous finder, and the shape of this base allowed it to fit snugly even on my smallish tube (5" OD). It holds my Orion finder securely.

I got this base to add a second finder to my AstroView 6 scope. Now I have both a RACI 9x50 and the EZ Finder Deluxe, making it very easy to find my target and really be spot on!

I wanted to convert another of my telescopes to a larger finder so I purchased this base to attach an Orion finder scope. It was easy to install
and is very solid. It was just what I was looking for.

After using the EZ Finder on my XT8 for a while I swapped it out for the 9X50 right-angle finder scope. After using both I couldn't decide which finder I liked better.Thanks to the Orion Dovetail Base, it was easy to mount a second aiming device to my XT8. I could not be happier. Each finder has it's own advantages and switching between the two gets me where I want to be fast!
