The Orion EZ Finder II Telescope Reflex Sight makes it easy to aim your telescope accurately.

For a lot of us, aiming a telescope at the right spot in the sky can be challenging. Most standard finder scopes yields a magnified, upside-down image compared to the naked-eye view, which can be confusing if not downright frustrating to use when trying to accurately point a telescope at an object of interest.

Take confusion and frustration out of the aiming equation with the Orion EZ Finder II Reflex Sight. It's a non-magnifying sighting device that superimposes a tiny, LED-powered red dot, focused at infinity, on the sky. After a simple initial alignment procedure, the red dot, which is centered in a wide window with a 10° field of view, shows exactly where your telescope is pointed. Just place the red dot on the area you want to investigate with the attached telescope, and you’re done!
The brightness of the red dot is adjustable to suit your preference. Thumbwheels allow fine positioning of the dot horizontally and vertically for precise alignment with the main telescope.

You can install the EZ Finder II on virtually any telescope, be it a refractor, reflector, or Cassegrain. The Orion EZ Finder II comes equipped with a dovetail bracket that fits the quick-release dovetail mounting base on many Orion telescopes. The bracket provides enough height for extra clearance from the optical tube for easier viewing access. For installation on other telescopes, a dovetail base can be purchased separately.

Try an Orion EZ Finder II Reflex Sight in place of, or alongside, your telescope's standard finder scope! You'll be amazed at what a difference it makes.

EZ Finder II reflex sights runs on a 3-volt lithium battery (CR-2032, included). Weighs 2.8 oz. including bracket; 4-3/4" long.

Simple straight-forward design. Simple straight-forward use. The best finder available. The only drawback is remembering to turn it off after use. Now if only I can remember to do that, then I'd be 100% happy with it. Is it possible to add an after-market timer chip to it, to turn it off?

Sets up quick. Had red dot aligned in minutes. Also stays aligned after removal. Adjustment of the red dot brilliance was not a problem. In order to use the finder you have to place your head/cheek alongside the telescope tube. If you look at more than two objects per session craning your neck and bending over to look through the finder starts to be a chore. I have already purchased another finder scope.

This finder wasn't bad at first, but over time I have begun to realize that I need something of a higher quality. Skip this one - too much plastic.

I've got the EZ Finder II on 2 different telescopes; the 70mm GoScope and Starblast 6.
On the 70, I like the EZ Finder. It sits right on the tube, right in front of your eyes. As easy to aim as anything. Makes it a real Point and Shoot type scope.
On the Starblast 6, it was highly aggravating. As another review noted, it doesn't have a lot of travel when adjusting, and both knobs really have to be wrenched when adjusting it. Also, there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to how far the dot travels versus how far you turn the knob. It doesn't help that on this scope the EZ Finder sits on a plastic spacer that also bends and twists while you're aligning it. Highly unsatisfactory since I'd had almost no issues with it on the 70, and am no stranger to aligning optics.
That aside, the contortions necessary to use it with the Starblast 6 make it a pain in the neck. Literally! I will be upgrading to a 6x30 RACI soon, I think.
Favorite viewing location:??State Park
Favorite object to observe:??The Sky
Pros: comes with a free battery, dot is easy to see, works great on the 70 goscope
Cons: not well built, knobs are a bear
