Mfg Model #  09463

Orion's Mini Giants really hit the sweet spot for astronomy binoculars. They grab more light than a 50mm glass yet they don't have the weight or bulk of larger, "giant" binoculars. This high-power model will please anyone desiring extra magnification for closer, more detailed images than standard binoculars permit. Suddenly, more star clusters resolve into stellar pinpoints, lunar craters burst with geologic fine-detail, and the Andromeda Galaxy reveals more of its core and dust lane structure!

The lenses and high-grade BAK-4 prisms are fully multi-coated to permit the highest light transmission possible. The aluminum barrels are internally glare-threaded to ensure rich contrast and eliminate ghosting. Images are sharp, bright, and wonderfully vivid.

Moderate, 9x magnification allows a wide 5.0° field and 7mm exit pupil. Extra-long 26mm eye relief. Good hand-holdability. Weighs 2 lbs. 10 oz.

Contributing to this binocular's comfort factor is its long eye relief. No pressing the eyepiece housings into your eye sockets to get the full field of view! Even eyeglass wearers will see edge to edge.

Its relatively compact size, allow this Orion Mini Giant 9x63 binocular to be hand-held comfortably for short viewing stints. That applies to daytime use as well. For extended gazes, especially with the two high-power models, you'll want to tripod-mount the binocular for steady images.

Smooth rubber armoring provides a secure grip. A large, knurled center focus wheel, pop-down rubber eyeguards, and threaded socket for optional tripod adapter round out the feature set. This Orion Mini Giant comes with a hard case, deluxe wide neck strap, and lens caps.

No other company offers binoculars equivalent in size, quality, and performance to Orion's family of Mini Giants. Find out for yourself why they're such an outstanding value! Made in Japan.

The Orion 9x63 binoculars are the finest I have ever used. Although they are large they can still be readily hand held

My wife always enjoyed wide-sky views while I was using the telescope with a rinky-dink pair on 7x35s from our camping kit. I did my research online and found the Orion Mini-Giants to be well liked, especially for the price. They seemed like the most aperture, without over-magnifying, that I could get without breaking the bank. Being from Orion Telescopes, it was only appropriate that the first object I viewed with the Mini-Giants was the Orion Nebula in M42. That was followed by the Pleiades and Jupiter. These binoculars are beautiful: well-made, good optics, easily handled, and plenty of light-gathering power. These are going to be greatly enjoyed on many camping trips to come.

These are my go-to binoculars for any serious binocular observing. In my extensive collection, this pair stands out as the perfect balance between magnifying power, field of view, and easy handling. I prefer them over Orion's 9X15 Minigiants, which I also own. I recommend them to observing pals (who've bought them), and give them as gifts. I've won two observing awards with them, and when I return to binocular astronomy after my telescopic pursuits, I'll win more. Thank you, Orion, for producing my favorite binos!
Favorite viewing location:??My backyard in northern San Diego.
Favorite object to observe:??Open Star Clusters
Pros: can't beat these pricewise!, exceptional view and handling!

I took the beginner route and started my stargazing with these 9X63 binoculars. Very happy with the clear bright images and easy, easy to use. Highly recommend a tripod mount if you plan to use them more than 15 minutes at a stretch.
