Sky and Telescope Folding Field Map of the Moon
Reviewer: Matt Wedel
This map is extremely well though out. It folds in fourths, so you can get it down to one-hand size and still make out most of the features you might want to observe at one time. Each quarter of the map covers a bit more than a fourth of the moon, so the features on the lunar equator and meridian don't get lost in the folds. The contrast on the lunar features and text is great and easy to make out with the ubiquitous dim red flashlight. A lot of amateur astronomers carp about the moon spoiling their DSO views. I like going back and forth, depending on what's up and what's bright. Arm yourself with one of these and you might discover--or rediscover--the moon too.
