Orion Observers Backpack and Telescope Case

I bought this to carry my "short tube
80". I now leave the 80 attached to my
6" reflector. Now the backpack carries all
of my telescopes accessories, eye
pieces, GEM mount, weights, etc. now I
can carry my telescopes, tripod, and
accessories (on my back) to my car in
one trip. A wonderful product.
Clear Skies!!

I purchased the Orion Observer
Backpack based on a review that stated
that the Meade ETX 125 will fit. I placed
my ETX 125 in the backpack and it does
fit and I am able to close the backpack.
* However, my telescope is slightly
wider than the actual backpack and as a
result will bulge about 1-2 inches from
the front. The amount of bulge is
acceptable to me and the overall quality
of the backpack is top notch.

a LOT more spacious than I expected,
this backpack / telescope case is more
like a true hikers backpack than a day-
pack. Lots of pockets, padded dividers,
external hardpoints - there is even a zip-
up cover for the shoulder straps. Would
recommend for all small-scope owners.

I wish I'd had this back ~25 years ago
when I strapped my wooden-boxed
60mm refractor on an old backpack
frame and schlepped it up an icy New
England mountain in March to see
Halley's Comet. This well made pack
swallowed my ETX-80, a laptop, a half
dozen eyepieces, pocket atlas, flashlight,
etc. - and there is still room in there for a
lightweight camping setup - you can
actually go backpacking overnight with
this humongous pack. No, I wouldn't want
to hike 20 miles with it....but for car
camping or short hiking trips it's a great
compact observatory. The tripod straps
securely to the side....there are pockets
galore....hard rails on the bottom so you
can rest it on concrete surfaces and not
damage the fabric. It certainly exceeded
my expectations.

Unfortunately, my mama telescope
would not fit in this bag, so I am
returning it. It did have tons of pockets
and snaps, and was high quality with lots
of padding. Would highly reccomend for
smaller scopes.

This is a well-constructed product that
is probably as useful as I had
anticipated, if the scope fits.
However, MY Celestron Nexstar 6SE has a
9" base which doesn't quite fit into a
case that is only 7" deep. Width and
heighth are fine, with room at the top
to store the finder scope or diagonal in
a sort of "hammock".
The "accessories" pockets and "laptop"
pocket both appear to be quite
functional if 2" of the "door flap"
isn't wasted folding up around the base
of the telescope.
Naturally, the OTA by itself would fit
just fine, but that defeats my
definition of an "all-in-one" carrying case.
But I will still reiterate that it is a
fine product and I have no doubt it
would function well within my needs if
the base of my scope were 7" instead of 9".

this case is all that it is described to be. I recently
travelled out to CA and found it to be VERY nice as
it easily fit into the overhead compartment on the
aircraft

Before ordering the backpack, I
downloaded the instructions from your
web site to see whether it would hold my
Celestron NexStar 6SE. The meaurements
checked out, and once the backpack
arrived, proved to be accurate. The
backpack holds the telescope, mount,
diagonal, finder and eyepieces in a
compact, easy to handle package. I'm
very happy with this product.

I just got this bag and absolutely love
it! It hold every one of my accessories.
Along with my Meade ETX-125. The lumbar
pad makes it really comfortable and easy
on the back. The multiple compartments
and the tripod straps are fantastic.
Well worth the money!

This backpack is a must have for the
observer on the go. I have a 90mm
Apex scope, and this backpack is perfect
for transporting the scope, tripod,
accessories, etc... Strong, thick padding
keeps everything secure, and the main
compartment can be easily rearanged
for maximum efficency.
