Stargazing with binoculars is an idyllic pleasure. All the more so with Orion's Paragon-Plus Binocular Mount.

This parallelogram-style mount's silky smooth motion provides relaxing viewing for hours on end with binoculars as large as 80mm in aperture. It eliminates arm strain and shakiness, and allows you to aim your binocular high overhead, even to the zenith, while you stand or sit comfortably underneath. Ahhh!

What's more, you can raise and lower the binoculars while staying fixed on a target, a wonderful feature when two or more people are observing together.

Solidly constructed of aluminum, the mount features a sliding counterweight for perfect balance and an L-adapter for attaching any tripod-adaptable binoculars.

Maximum binocular height is 7' 7". The tripod and binocular mount each come fully assembled. For use with Orion MegaView 80mm binoculars, adapter (7589) is required to couple the MegaView's integrated 1/4"-20 post to the binocular mount. Compatible with virtually any heavy-duty tripod (without pan head) that has 1/4" or 3/8" threaded post. Mount comes fully assembled. Weighs 12.6 lbs.

Orion Paragon-Plus Binocular Mount without Tripod

No problems with mine using a 15x70 and a slow motion tracker. I actually observered all 110 Messier objects with the setup. Although with my setup I use a stronger tripod from Oberwerk. Orion tripods are fine I just want a bigger one for using a larger 20x80 or 25x100 later. William

Worked great - had it setup within mintues! The binocular mount works better than I had imagined. My celestron binos did not need an adaptor though.

I bought this mount to use binoculars in astronomy. I was aware that I jiggle a lot, but until I began using this mount I didn't know just how much. I use 7 x 35 and 15 x 70 binoculars with the mount. The 7 x 35 binocular is so light that you have to use the control knobs to hold it in place. The 15 x 70s will balance. I have found that , when balanced, I can use two of the control knobs as clutches and pan vertically and horizontally at the same time. When I tighten one and release the mount, I have about a second of jiggle before returning to calm. You will find the finger saving bumper between the arms to be a blessing - thanks Orion. I am over six feet tall and I can easily get my binoculars directly overhead while standing. The mount is heavy and needs a good tripod such as the Orion XHD. Orion Tech Support told me that a well made 20 x 80 is the maximum load for this mount so, I expect that to be my next purchase. If you spend a lot of astronomy time with binoculars, you really need this mount.

I ordered the Paragon-Plus Binocular Mount for my 20 x 80 binoculars after trying to use them attached to the pan head of my tripod. A friend had made a similar device for his binoculars and lent it to me for a while. It convinced me that I needed a true binocular mount. I am very pleased with the Paragon- Plus. It attaches easily to the pan head of the tripod with a standard 1/4-20 screw. With the counterbalance and parallelogram design it allows me to aim the binoculars at any object from the horizon to the zenith. It stays in position with no backlash. I highly recommend it to owners of large binoculars in particular.

I am new to binocular astronomy, and wanted a versatile, portable mount for my mid-sized binoculars. The Paragon- Plus was on sale, so I went for it. Hats off to Orion for offering a very well- made mount! Sturdy, yet smooth in action, it fits very well on my large Gitzo photo tripod (3/8" screw mount). At half the price of similar mounts, it is excellent in all respects. Absolutely no complaints. Thanks again for a wonderful product that makes astro and terrestrial viewing with large binoculars a breeze!
