This 1.25" SkyGlow Broadband Telescope Filter is an advanced multilayer "interference" filter that blocks the most common wavelengths of light pollution while passing desirable wavelengths with very little attenuation, yielding dramatically better deep-sky views.

With the SkyGlow filter the Orion Nebula shows much more detail in my light polluted suburban sky. A must have accessory for anybody who has less than perfect stargazing skies.

The best broadband filter in my opinion. Enhances nebulae (very good for reflection nebulae such as M78 in Orion) but also darkens the sky sufficiently to make larger diffuse galaxies stand out. Makes the views of open clusters more pleasing from suburban skies. I had a 0.965" version a couple of years ago, sold it and missed it so much I got the 1.25" one :)

I purchased this filter in the hope of seeing some nebulae besides the Orion Nebulae. I asked customer support if this would help my 4 inch Apex resolve them, and they said that yes, it should. Unfortunately, I see no difference, and now I think that I should have gotten the kit that comes with the same SkyGlow filter and other color filters for almost the same price... especially now that the price is lower. Still happy with Orion overall, as I think that they make great products. Just that the filter was probably not really made for what I wanted.
