Expanse oculars have big eye lenses and great eye relief (13mm to 17mm). Eyeglass wearers can view the entire field without removing their glasses. All eyepiece elements are fully coated, with the outer lens multi-coated for additional light transmission. The 1.25" aluminum barrel is threaded for filters and internally blackened to eliminate internal scattering. And its fold-down rubber eyeguard enhances contrast by blocking stray light.

I was looking for a high magnification
eyepiece for lunar and planetary viewing
but didn't want to feel like I was
looking through a pinhole. The first
time you put it into the focuser it's
readily apparent why they call it an
Expanse eyepiece. I've never used and
eyepiece that lets you "look around"
inside to see different fields of view.
I was just blown away by this eyepiece,
I highly recommend this for all your
planetary needs.

after reading everything i could find
about this eyepiece i took the plunge,,
the only way to decribe this eyepiece is
to have it and use it, it does not
disappoint for the price cant go wrong. i
hace a c8 and a dsx-102 mak and it
worked great for me i have a 25mm and
a few other but i only used the 25mm
and the expanse 6mm, looking forward
to purchasing the other eyepieces....

What I like about this eyepiece is the
fact that it is easy to see through, even
though it is only a 6mm eyepiece. In fact
the lens is larger than my 20mm. It
makes it easy to use, especially for
beginners around me.
In my view, it is better to use it on
larger
objects, like planets and the moon.
Lately, I used it with a friend who's a
long time astronomer amateur (I am
fairly new in this) and he said he never
saw the moon like that, with the details
being so precise.
Those are the good reasons why I am
happy with my buy!

I purchased one of Orion's 6mm
eyepieces and just love it! I had already
purchased the 15mm expanse eyepiece
and these are now the only 2 I use. The
quality is excellent and there's nothing
like the crisp wide open view that you
get, not to mention the reasonable price.

Having used only standard Kellner &
Plossl eyepieces for the last year - this
was a giant (yet relatively inexpensive)
upgrade for me. The amazing 68 degree
apparent field makes using my old
eyepieces a joke, and the eye relief is
twice that of my 10mm Plossl. I get
crisp views of familiar areas that now
have an extra ring of real estate all
around them, and when combined with
my Barlow I can still get razor sharp
images of Saturn at x200.

The 6mm eyepiece is just GREAT for
me, it has shown me things that I could
not see since I was young. The field of
view is unbelievable. I have a Meade
114 mm telescope with 910 focal length.
This expanse eyepiece has a very
generous and comfortable eye relief. The
price is down to earth. I have been able
to look through the eye piece for hours
without getting tired or bumping the
eyepiece with my eye due to being to
close. I am very pleased with the eye
piece.
