Orion Deluxe Off-Axis Guider
- The Orion Deluxe Off-Axis Guider lets you image and guide simultaneously through the same telescope!
- Eliminates the need for a separate guidescope while imaging, saving equipment weight and setup time
- Imaging and guiding through a single telescope eliminates tracking problems such as differential flexure and mirror shift
- Compatible with autoguiders featuring T-threads or 1.25" nosepiece, as well as 1.25" illuminated reticle eyepieces
- Attaches to any 2" focuser via the included 2" nosepiece, or onto any T-thread equipped rear-cell
- Includes T-extensions of three different lengths (7mm, 17mm, and 30mm) to accomodate different camera/guider combinations
- Features prism tilt adjustment and more than 100 degrees of radial adjustment for easy guide star location
- Built-in coarse and helical fine-focus adjustments allow focus of autoguider relative to camera
- Requires a minimum of 59mm inward focus travel
Tired of using a separate guide telescope for astro-imaging? Our new Orion Deluxe Off-Axis Guider lets you image and guide with the same telescope! This streamlined solution will reduce setup time, save weight on your telescope mount and eliminate any tracking problems associated with mirror shift or tube flexure.
Works best with Orion StarShoot AutoGuider and StarShoot cameras, as well as Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) cameras. Accommodates most imaging cameras and telescopes with sufficient inward focus travel (59mm required). Not recommended for reflector telescopes due to their limited focus travel.

I sent it back. The fitting, on which the
starshoot camera fits, woobled on the
shaft. The tiny hex wrench was not a
proper fit. It slipped and I had to use my
own. Even after tightening the hex
screws to the point of fear of stripping
them, the camera still wobbled.
The instructions and set up proceedure
seemed quite complicated.
I went back to my Orion 80mm short
tube piggy backed onto the 8"r/c
astrograph.

This is a great alternative for guiding, a
less expensive solution than adding a
guide scope as well as having less
weight added to your mount.
