Orion Mini Giant 9x63 Binoculars
  • Big, light-grabbing binoculars excel for both astronomical and daytime viewing
  • Lenses and BAK-4 prisms are fully multi-coated for exceptional light transmission and bright images
  • Barrels are internally glare-threaded to eliminate ghosting and ensure rich contrast
  • Extra-long 26mm eye relief lets eyeglass wearers take in the whole field of view in comfort
  • Includes hard case, deluxe wide neck strap and lens caps. Five-year limited warranty

Orion's Mini Giants really hit the sweet spot for astronomy binoculars. They grab more light than a 50mm glass yet they don't have the weight or bulk of larger, "giant" binoculars. This high-power model will please anyone desiring extra magnification for closer, more detailed images than standard binoculars permit. Suddenly, more star clusters resolve into stellar pinpoints, lunar craters burst with geologic fine-detail, and the Andromeda Galaxy reveals more of its core and dust lane structure!

The lenses and high-grade BAK-4 prisms are fully multi-coated to permit the highest light transmission possible. The aluminum barrels are internally glare-threaded to ensure rich contrast and eliminate ghosting. Images are sharp, bright, and wonderfully vivid.

Moderate, 9x magnification allows a wide 5.0° field and 7mm exit pupil. Extra-long 26mm eye relief. Good hand-holdability. Weighs 2 lbs. 10 oz.

Contributing to this binocular's comfort factor is its long eye relief. No pressing the eyepiece housings into your eye sockets to get the full field of view! Even eyeglass wearers will see edge to edge.

Its relatively compact size, allow this Orion Mini Giant 9x63 binocular to be hand-held comfortably for short viewing stints. That applies to daytime use as well. For extended gazes, especially with the two high-power models, you'll want to tripod-mount the binocular for steady images.

Smooth rubber armoring provides a secure grip. A large, knurled center focus wheel, pop-down rubber eyeguards, and threaded socket for optional tripod adapter round out the feature set. This Orion Mini Giant comes with a hard case, deluxe wide neck strap, and lens caps.

No other company offers binoculars equivalent in size, quality, and performance to Orion's family of Mini Giants. Find out for yourself why they're such an outstanding value! Made in Japan. Five-year limited warranty.

These binoculars are an excellent value. Probably all that anyone would ever need. Not too heavy for hand holding and pinpoint viewing.

Lightweight and well constructed. Lens caps leave much to be desired, Orion should come up with a better set of covers and they would get five stars from my review! On to the optics...Excellent coatings, excellent collimation, focuses great on celestial viewing. Eye relief is more than excellent, anyone who wears glasses can leave them on. Field of view is great, and the view out to the edge was fantastic for binoculars under 500.00.

I have not tried other binoculars of this size, so I can't give a rating compared to any others. I can say that I'm enjoying them. The 63 mm. objective gathers a nice amount of light for smaller binos, and the exit pupil provides enough light for my aging eyes so that I can view the whole scene. I'm happy to have them to use w/ my tripod.

I purchased these primarily for hunting use during dusk and dawn, low light conditions. They are outstanding! The light gathering capability is superior and with 9X magnification deliver extremely bright, clear sharp, detailed images in low light conditions. Thank you Orion for a superior product and a very reasonable price.

This is as big as you would want, if you hand-hold binoculars, even this magnification is difficult to hold steady for long periods, and gets heavy during a night of watching (and I'm a strong guy). Great for laying down on a lawn chair or the ground, and looking up. These are fabulous for astronomy. I like the large ratio of 63/9, which means images are very bright. The large exit pupil uses the full eye in the dark. They work OK with or without glasses. They are also good for evening sports games from the cheaper seats. Well built, nice looking, sturdy, you get a lot for your money. One of the best deals Orion offers.
