Orion Scenix 10x50 Wide-Angle Binoculars
  • Perfect higher-power binocular for astronomy or long-distance terrestrial viewing
  • BAK-4 porro prisms and multi-coated objective lenses ensure bright, crisp images
  • Wide 7-degree field of view and 176 foot close focus
  • Sturdy metal (not plastic) housing with large center focusing mechanism
  • Includes carrying case, lens cap and deluxe wide neck strap. Two-year limited warranty

Orion Scenix binoculars have always offered superior optical and mechanical quality compared to brands you find at most retail stores. And now Scenix binoculars are even better, incorporating porro prisms made from high-grade BAK-4 optical glass. These are the same prisms found in binoculars that sell for as much as four times the price.

You just can't beat Scenix for all-around value. Common, low-priced "mass market" binoculars have to cut corners by coating only one or two visible optical surfaces with antireflection coatings (and leaving many uncoated), by allowing looser tolerances on optical matching and alignment, and by employing poor-quality mechanical components.

Scenix binoculars are different. Every air-to-glass surface is antireflection coated, and the objective lenses are even multi-coated for additional light transmission. And Orion doesn't use gimmicky "ruby" coatings like you find on some brands, which only serve to turn images green!

This Orion Scenix 10x50 Wide Angle binocular is a perfect higher-power astro binocular, equally well suited for long-distance terrestrial observing. Extra wide angle 7° field. Weighs 28 oz.

Its housing is constructed of sturdy metal, not plastic, and is armored with protective rubber. The large center focusing mechanism is the same one found on many more expensive binoculars.

This binocular is rugged and reliable, delivering sharp images on demand. It includes a vinyl carrying case, lens caps, and deluxe wide neck strap. It accepts a tripod L-adapter (sold separately). Two-year limited warranty.

Please note this product was not designed or intended by the manufacturer for use by a child 12 years of age or younger.

Great views of country animals, such as birds and clover eaters like groundhogs and bunnies. Also, clear views of astro sites such as our moon and Jupiter and three of its moons so far...

The optics on the binoculars is excellent however the construction leaves much to be desired. The right adjustable eyepiece came off and there is little help from customer service except return them for repairs. Looking at the stars overhead focusing drifts. I guess AT $99.00 YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. NOT recommended!!

I bought the Scenix Binoculars to supplement my telescope, and to allow me to do some star gazing before work without dragging out the scope. They work great and have seen Jupiter, Andromeda Galaxy, and several star clusters.

Build quality was much better than I expected. The controls were firm and precise. Still amazed at how bright objects appear, even at night. At night, objects seem brighter in the scope than when I look at them with bare eyes. I had to read the documentation to find the tripod mount - kicked myself when I did.

I bought this to learn the night sky and get started in astronomy. I've been able to locate Saturn, Mars, the Beehive cluster, and Orion nebula. Saturn and Mars were small but bright. The Beehive and Orion were somewhat less bright in my light polluted sky. Can't wait to get a telescope and use these to help locate my targets. They focus well at any distance and the diopter adjustment is nice. Also useful for viewing local wildlife at a distance.

The Scenix 10-50 Wide-Angle Binos are solidly constructed, and the views are amazing. They really make hunting for fainter objects a pleasure, and the wide FOV fills your eyes with stars. Highly recommended as either a learning tool or as a visual aid when using a telescope. Wonderful!

This binocular not only develops interest in stars and constellations but also gives the almost same image of what we see in star charts, means a person cannot get lost in sky thus it is the best for amateur astronomer.
