The 1.25" Orion Enhanced Star Diagonal is thus far the best upgrade I have installed on my Meade 8 Inch SCT. In fact it saved me a fairly large sum of money. I own a vintage Meade LX3 Model 2080 equiped with the Multi- Coated Silvered Optics Group or -MSOG- The scope came with a standard meade diagonal and even after a long collimation process I kept getting horrible images from my LX3. I feared the worst and was getting ready to ship the OTA back to Meade in order to have the optics replaced. As you can imagine NOT CHEAP by any means considering that this paticular SCT was built in 1983. A friend suggested replacing the diagonal with a good quaility star diagonal and highly recommended this paticular diagonal from Orion. Problem solved! The views with this old girl are beautiful! Simply amazing for how old this scope is. Thank you Orion for offering such a good quaility star diagonal and a great price. This diagonal saved me a large sum of money. More over, my Meade LX3 Model 2080 can stay a classic with it's original optics! Thanks again! Michael

I used this to replace the stock diagonal that came with my 8" SCT. Wow! What a difference. Much brighter images. I highly recommend this product to anyone who wants high quality optics. If you are going to spend the money on a high quality telescope and eyepieces, don't forget to get a great diagonal. This is the one I recommend. You can spend more money than the price for this diagonal, but you will not get any better performance in my opinion! Another great Orion Product!

I bought two of these because they have compression ring eyepiece holders. This diagonal works better than the ones shipped with many refractors. You would expect that. The compression ring holder has kept me from scratching the barrels of my eyepieces after learning the hard way what set screws can do. I recommend these to anyone that has a heavy hand when tightening your eyepiece in place. It will save a lot of anxiety.
