The 0.85x Reducer-Corrector for Orion 120mm ED refractors reduces the effective focal length, producing a wider field and brighter images, and allowing shorter exposure times for astrophotography. It also provides excellent field correction (flattening), yielding sharp stars out to the edge of a camera chip as large as 36mm x 24mm, which is even larger than the APS-C size chip housed in the DSLRs most widely used by astrophotographers!

The Reducer-Corrector is designed exclusively for use with DSLR cameras, providing the nominal 55mm distance required from the optics to the camera sensor to achieve critical focus. You will need a "wide" T-ring for your brand of camera (sold separately).

This astrophotographic accessory features a two-element lens assembly, with one lens made from high-quality extra-low dispersion (ED) glass. The optics are fully multi-coated to minimize light reflection off the lens surfaces. It's designed for use with either the EON 120ED or the original 120ED refractors, since both have the same focal length. The effective focal length is shortened from 900mm to 765mm (f/7.5 to f/6.38), creating a faster system for improved astrophotographic performance.

The Reducer-Corrector threads onto the focuser drawtube's male threads for a secure fit that will not introduce flexure. Threads on the cameras side accept your camera's "wide" T-ring.

This is a 'must-have' accessory for better astrophotography with Orion's ED120 refractors. Great for daytime terrestrial photography too!
