Niagara Falls. Bryce Canyon. Mount Fuji. If you have ever laid eyes on such monuments to Mother Nature, you know what a "grand view" is. And so it is in the spirit of these natural wonders and the myriad others we encounter every day — inanimate and animate, great and small — that we present a telescope designed for their appreciation.

The Orion GrandView 20-60x100mm Spotting Scope 100mm features big optics for big, bold views, whatever your viewing target. The multi-coated 100mm achromatic objective lens delivers exceptional resolution in full daylight or dim twilight. The telescope eyepiece, set at a 45° angle on the prism housing, zooms continuously from 20x to 60x magnification, providing tremendous imaging versatility. With a field of view ranging from 1.67° at 20x to 1.0° at 60x, and eye relief from 18mm to 15mm, respectively, the Orion GrandView is a pleasure to look through.

Internal glare-threading and baffling ensure great contrast, and an extendable lens shade eliminates extraneous glare. The one-finger focus wheel keeps images sharp. Mount the telescope on any sturdy tripod via the 1/4"-20 mounting block, which is attached to a rotatable collar.

So step up from a good view to an Orion GrandView 20-60x100mm Spotting Scope view and see nature in all its glory! Weighs 4lbs., 14 oz. Includes rugged carrying case. Two-year limited warranty.

I have several spotting scopes and large binoculars, I bought this to replace them.I have a 6'' refractor, a 10'' reflector. I know about good optics. But I was not ready for the high quality level of resolution. Crisp and sharp edge to edge. I use this mostly for land viewing but I'm finding its also quite good for astronomy. The "nubs" on the side for locating objects could be better. However, this scope is way better than expected.

Nice looking, fairly lightweight, good eye relief, reasonable cost. Most importantly, you can zoom all the way to 60x without loosing too much edge of field sharpness and brightness of the image. Negative aspects... I wish it had come with a hard foam lined case instead of the soft case which has almost no padding for the scope. Requires a heavy duty tripod with a large pan head so image doesn't shake at 60x.

I'm pleased with the spotter, it's better than I thought, BUT it needs a stronger mounting hardware and a place closer to the front to clamp down. It might be approx. 6 lbs. on a tripod it shimmers for quite a while, add a digital camera and you have a blurred images.

I am a high power rifle competitor and use the GrandView scope for determining where the bullet impacts the target at 200 and 300 yards. This scope has the ability to see the small 22 caliber holes in the paper target. It is as good and even better than most if not all the high dollar ($1000 and up) spotting scopes used by most serious high power competitors. The only 'minor' problem is the scope's size and weight. It is a bit too big and heavy for some of the smaller commercial scope stands. I am completely satisfied with the GrandView scope. Chuck Miller

The GrandView Scope has met or exceeded our expectations. We are very satisfied. After easily setting up the scope and tripod on Christmas Day, the very next day we had the rare opportunity of using it to observe two black swans, briefly visiting our lake in NW NJ. What an unexpected treat!

The first thing I used my scope for was to view the full moon at but I soon discovered that I could only see it clearly between 20 and 45. Each time I went to 60 my view was blurred, even with the focusing knob. It works well when I loking at something around the neighborhood but not the moon.
