The Meade Series 4000 1.25" 2x Short-Focus Barlow Lens is a compact, "shorty" style power-boosting lens. It doubles the magnification of any 1.25" eyepiece, which means that it essentially doubles the number of focal lengths available to you with your existing eyepiece collection!

The 2x Short-Focus Barlow Lens features a 26mm lens aperture and fully multi-coated optics for bright, clear images. Its 1.25" barrel is conveniently threaded for use of filters. This Barlow's overall length is just 2.9", so it keeps the eyepiece closer to the focuser than full-length Barlows do, ensuring less drawtube play and scope imbalance. The short length also takes up less space in your accessory case.

When using the Barlow with telescopes that require a diagonal, you have two different magnification options. If the Barlow is inserted between the diagonal and the eyepiece, you get 2x magnification. If the diagonal is inserted between the telescope and the diagonal, the magnification factor is boosted to approximately 3x. (Note that in the 3x configuration an extension tube may be necessary between the telescope and the diagonal in order to reach focus.) Made of machined aluminum, the 2x Short-Focus Barlow is equipped with two locking thumbscrews rather than the usual single thumbscrew, to lock your eyepiece more securely in place.
