One evening three or four years ago early spring I believe, in Oklahoma at my sister's I brought to her house my Orion 6" reflector and pointed it up at a bright star in the west. To our surprise it was a small moon which we later learned was Venus, since this was very early in our astronomy days and didn't know very much at all, but anyway all the neighbors from all over started coming over and looking and even some people that were just driving by, then my sister says I wonder if I put my camera up to the eyepiece will it take a photo, I said I have no idea try it, and wham we got good shots of Venus, then later of the moon and several hours later some pics of Saturn. I could not believe the clarity, and neither could all the neighbors. There must of been 15 people out there all taking turns, everyone kept asking where I got my scope and what kind was it, so I told them its an Orion just go online and check out their stuff.
My sister call me several weeks later and said that she and four other people on the block had bought telescopes from Orion and where having star parties almost every weekend it was clear for months, I have several other pics of Saturn if you would like to view them, I think there great and show them off regularly to people, the star parties I goto most folks have Meade telescopes and I cant tell any difference in a 8" Meade and my 6" Orion. Thank you for all the smiles Orion and making me the cool guy on the block one night in Shawnee.
