This Coronado SolarMax II 60mm Double Stacking Etalon with RichView tuning system is designed to attach to an existing single stack etalon in order to reduce the bandpass from 0.7 Angstroms (�) down to a 0.5 �. By narrowing the bandpass, this add-on filter increases visibility of surface detail and active regions on the Solar disc — features such as solar flares, filaments, plages and surface granulation. Note it MUST be combined with a primary SolarMax II 60 filter and blocking filter (BF) or a complete Coronado SolarMax II 60 telescope. Also compatible with the original SolarMax 60mm but the AP186 adapter ring is necessary to attach this etalon to the original model.

This add-on etalon includes Meade's patented RichView tuning which allows direct tuning of the etalon filter. This tuning system adjusts the distance between the parallel glass plates in order to achieve the perfect wavelength bandpass for the feature you are observing, all while maintaining precise optical alignment. This patented technology also allows the SolarMax to be used at high altitude observing locations. The RichView system simply allows for better control over your H-a bandpass window. In addition to RichView tuning, the included T-Max Tuner allows you to tune in the brightest image and remove any reflections from the image. Combined, the RichView and T-Max together offer unparalleled image tuning to get the best possible view of solar details!

Please note: this filter CANNOT be used as a stand-alone solar filter. Immediate and irreversible eye damage may result. Only use this etalon in conjunction with an existing SolarMax II 60mm etalon and Coronado Blocking Filter, or threaded onto the front of an existing SolarMax II 60mm telescope.
