Study the Sun safely with this combination of Film Solar Filters and the popular Orion 20x80mm Astronomy binocular. With the white-light solar filters installed, this combo lets you safely explore the Sun at 20x magnification to see sunspots and other solar phenomena. In April of 2024, a solar eclipse will be visible in the United States. Don't miss out on this spectacular event. When you don't want to look at the Sun, just remove the Film Solar Filters from the 20x80 binocular and use it without filters to explore daytime vistas and starry skies.

Orion 20x80mm Astronomy Binoculars are the ultimate in eyeglass- and sunglass-friendly binoculars! Their luxurious 18mm eye relief allows the full field of view to be seen with eyeglasses on, simply by folding back the rubber eyecups. These 20x80mm Astronomy binoculars are also long on optical quality. Featuring the finest BAK-4 glass prisms, and lenses finely ground and polished to exacting specifications. All lens and prism air-to-glass surfaces are fully multi-coated, providing much higher light transmission than can be achieved with the standard coatings offered on most other binoculars. Colors are pure and images are tack-sharp right out to the edges. The large center focus wheel allows quick focusing with just a fingertip.

The Orion Safety Film Solar Filters for 80mm binoculars are made with high-quality Safety Solar Film, which is made specifically for safe observation of the Sun. Using this streak-free and blister-free film filter is an affordable and safe way to observe sunspots, solar eclipses and planetary transits of our Sun. When using the filter installed on a binocular or telescope, you'll see the Sun in its natural color. Don't miss out on the fun of observing solar activity with this unique and easy to use combo!

These Orion white-light solar filter are designed to see sunspots and granulation around the sun spots on the solar disk. They are not Hydrogen-alpha filters which shows prominence and solar flare detail. For that type of solar viewing, consider upgrading to a Coronado Solar Telescope.

Orion assures that all solar filters are tested at specialized labs that are accredited to verify compliance with the ISO 12312-2 safety specifications for solar viewing.

Warning: Never look directly at the Sun through binoculars — even for an instant — without professionally made solar filters that completely cover the front lenses of the instrument, or permanent eye damage could result.
