The Orion GoScope III 70mm Refractor Travel Telescope is designed to pack up and go whenever you hit the road, the trail, or the air. It excels for daytime birding, nature study, and scenic long-distance viewing, and will take you way beyond the Earth's horizon after sunset for some casual nighttime stargazing and Moon-watching. Plus, this value-packed Telescope Kit is loaded with fun extra accessories every stargazer will enjoy.

Built around a 70mm-aperture lens system, the Orion GoScope III 70mm Refractor is designed to obtain portable and detailed images of distant subjects. The telescope sets up in seconds on the included retractable aluminum tripod which allows smooth, easy pointing of the telescope. The compact tripod can be adjusted to hold the GoScope III refractor optical tube as low as 17.75" up to a 43.5" maximum height when the tripod legs are fully extended. For taller stargazers, the lightweight GoScope III can easily be placed on a table or other raised surface for comfortable use.

The GoScope III refractor comes with a correct-image prism diagonal so things seen through the telescope appear right-side-up and correct left-ro-right. Both a 20mm and 9mm Kellner eyepiece (1.25") are included for two different magnification options. An included 5x24 finder scope helps to aim the GoScope III. This complete observational system tucks away neatly in the included backpack for on-the-go action!

In addition to the complete telescope, the Orion GoScope III 70mm Refractor Travel Telescope Kit also comes with a great set of extra accessories at an amazing low price.

MoonMap 260

The Orion MoonMap 260 makes it easy to locate and learn about interesting features on the Moon.

With locations and names of over 260 features on the Moon such as craters, mountains, valleys, "seas" and more, the included Orion MoonMap 260 is a great tool for beginning astronomers. This detailed map will even show you where various spacecraft have landed on the Moon's surface! The whole family will enjoy looking at the Moon with the Orion GoScope III 70mm Refractor, then discovering the names of the craters and other features you've seen in the telescope.

Star Target

The Orion Star Target planisphere is a useful star chart wheel for any day of the year.

This circular star map lets you dial-in the month and day you're observing the sky, so you can see exactly which constellations and stars will be visible if skies are clear. Using the Orion Star Target is a great way for starters to plan their first stargazing sessions with the Orion GoScope III 70mm Refractor, since you'll know just where to point the telescope!

OTOG

The Orion Telescope Observer's Guide book will introduce you to the wonders of the night sky.

This book will help you explore amazing celestial objects including planetary, emission and reflection nebulas; double and multiple stars; open and globular star clusters, the Andromeda Galaxy, and more. With a full page of information dedicated to each interesting object, author Richard J. Bartlett leads you on a detailed tour of the night sky as he describes over 60 fascinating astronomical objects that can easily be seen with a small telescope.

Poster kit

Three included full-color posters are perfect for decorating and educating!

With detailed images of the 8 official planets of our solar system and the Sun, the included Solar System Poster is packed with interesting facts about each planet. You'll appreciate the Observing the Moon Poster's helpful viewing tips, including 10 close-up images of popular lunar features and informative sections on the phases of the Moon and more.
