  • More Info
    • This wonderfully capable equatorial reflector telescope gives beginning astronomy enthusiasts an exciting look at the many jewels of the night sky
    • Its 134mm (5.3") parabolic mirror and 650mm focal length provide sharp, wide-field views of the lunar surface, Saturn's rings, and deep-sky gems like the Lagoon and Orion nebulas
    • The sturdy EQ3-class equatorial mount and aluminum tripod is a big upgrade from the mounts that comparable telescopes on the market come with
    • Two quality 1.25" Plossl eyepieces are included: a 25mm for low-power views at 26x, and a 10mm for getting in tight at 65x. You also get a 6x30 finder scope .
    • This value-packed kit includes essential extras like Orion's MoonMap 260, RedBeam Mini LED Flashlight, power-doubling Shorty 2x Barlow Lens, Star Target Planisphere, and our helpful 174-page Telescope Observer's Guide

Things that can end up discouraging first-time telescope users: small aperture severely limits what you can see, a wimpy mount makes the image shaky, and cheap eyepieces make the image blurry. Well lucky for you, none of those problems applies to the Orion Observer 134mm EQ Reflector telescope. Quite the opposite, in fact.

This family friendly telescope boasts a big 134mm (5.3") parabolic primary mirror, which collects ample light to show faint celestial objects in impressive detail. The mirror's 500mm focal length serves up a wide field of view, delivering bright, sharp images of the lunar surface, Saturn's rings, and deep-sky denizens like the Lagoon and Orion nebulas and the Andromeda galaxy.

Unlike most similarly sized telescopes on the market, the Observer 114mm EQ Reflector includes a beefy EQ3-class equatorial mount rather than the less robust EQ1 mount. This means you'll enjoy steadier images. With its dovetail mounting saddle, you can pop the optical tube on or off quickly, for easy setup and transport. The optical tube is held in a pair of tube rings that can be quickly loosened to allow you to rotate the tube for comfortable focuser orientation. Dual slow-motion cables let you track objects manually to keep them centered in the eyepiece.

Two quality 1.25" Plossl eyepieces are included — a 25mm provides low-power views at 26x, and a 10mm gets in tight at 65x. Both eyepieces are threaded for optional Orion filters. The 1.25" rack and pinion focuser lets you dial in the perfect focus. A non-magnifying 6x30 finder scope is also included to help you locate your target object.

This Orion Observer 134mm EQ Reflector Telescope Kit includes an exciting collection of essential items that will help you get the most out of your new telescope.

    Barlow

Double the magnifying power of 1.25" eyepieces with the Shorty 2x Barlow.

A 2-power (2x) Barlow lens is a versatile telescope accessory that doubles the magnification of any eyepiece installed. What's more, you can use the compact Shorty 2x Barlow with any other 1.25" eyepieces you already have, or any you purchase in the future.

    star target

Learn "What's Up" on any night with the Orion Star Target Planisphere

This handy star wheel makes it easy to see "what's up" in the night sky any night of the year. Dial in your local date and time and it shows you the locations of the constellations and deep-sky objects in the night sky. Use it to plan a stargazing session, or see what time of year your favorite constellation will be visible. Designed for use in 30°-50° latitudes.

    Moonmap

Explore the Moon and identify its craters, spacecraft landing sites, and more with your telescope!

With locations and names of over 260 features on the Moon such as craters, mountains, valleys, "seas" and more, the Orion MoonMap 260 is a great tool for all amateur astronomers. Keep it handy while you look through the telescope to help identify lunar features as you observe them. "Wow, that bright crater is named Tycho!"

    flashlight

See what you're doing in the dark with the Orion RedBeam Mini LED flashlight

A red flashlight is needed to read materials and illuminate astronomy equipment at night. The Orion Redbeam Mini LED keychain flashlight emits pure red light that won't spoil your night vision. Perfect for reading your planisphere or MoonMap, and for seeing what you're doing at the telescope.

    OTOG book

Read the included Orion Telescope Observer's Guide and start exploring

This 174-page guide for new telescope users will help you find, learn about, and view a variety of celestial objects. With a full page of information dedicated to each one, author Richard J. Bartlett leads you on a detailed tour of the night sky as he describes over 60 fascinating astronomical denizens that can easily be seen with a small telescope.

With all these must-have extras, the Orion Observer 134mm Equatorial Reflector Telescope Kit is just too good a deal to pass up. Get yours today!
