    • Sturdy stainless steel tripod with pan head is a cut WAY above what normally comes standard with beginning-level telescopes
    • Also includes Orion's MoonMap 260 to help you identify some 260 lunar surface features including craters, mountain ranges, "seas" and more!

For the beginning telescope user or family looking for an all-purpose telescope that is as easy to take on vacations as it is to use right from the back yard, the StarBlast 90mm Altazimuth Travel Refractor Telescope may be the perfect telescope. It is a quality 90mm achromatic refractor telescope outfitted with a full-length stainless steel tripod and two-way pan head as well as a host of great accessories — all of which fit neatly into a rugged carry case with both shoulder and hand straps for convenient transport and storage.

The StarBlast 90mm Altazimuth Travel Refractor Telescope features an antireflection coated 90mm achromatic lens system with a 500mm focal length (f/5.6) for vivid images of distant subjects. The 1.25" rack-and-pinion focuser ensures your observing target will snap into sharp focus effortlessly. The integrated, rotatable 45-degree correct-image diagonal allows daytime views of terrestrial subjects in their proper orientation, unlike refractors that come with a "star diagonal," which show a mirror-reversed image and are better suited for astronomical observation only. (Note: the diagonal is not removable.) The 5x20 correct-image finder scope provides matching views in a wider field, to make spotting your targets a snap. And for stargazing, this telescope will reveal outstanding views of the Moon's surface, Saturn's rings, and scores of deep-sky nebulas and star clusters.

The views through the StarBlast 90mm Altazimuth Travel Refractor Telescope are all the more exceptional because it comes with two quality 1.25" Kellner 3-element eyepieces — not low-quality 2-element Huygenian or "H" eyepieces that are thrown in with many competing telescopes. Kellner eyepieces deliver sharper, clearer views. You get a 25mm Kellner, which provides 20x magnification, and a 9mm Kellner, which boosts the power to 56x — both antireflection coated for excellent light transmission. Of course, you can purchase additional 1.25" telescope eyepieces and/or a 2x Barlow lens to give you even more magnification options if desired. The eyepiece barrels are also threaded to accept optional Orion 1.25" filters. The tripod and pan head are a cut WAY above what normally comes standard with beginning-level telescopes. The super sturdy, extendable tripod is made of stainless steel and has a center brace for added rigidity. There's no wobble in this setup! A convenient accessory tray fastens onto the center brace with a simple twist-lock mechanism. The two-axis pan head provides, easy, smooth control of the telescope via the pan handle.

Everything fits neatly inside the rugged carrying case, which has a divider to separate the optical tube from the tripod. The accessory tray slips into a pocket inside the case, and a small zippered accessory pouch holds the eyepieces and finder scope. The case sports both hand straps and a shoulder strap, so it's ready to travel whenever you hit the road or the hiking trail. And if all that weren't enough, we also include Orion's MoonMap 260. It will help you identify some 260 of the most popular lunar surface features including craters, mountain ranges, valleys, rilles, "seas" and more! Maximum tripod height is 54.5" with legs fully extended.

Whoever said "You can't take it with you" was NOT talking about the Orion StarBlast 90mm Altazimuth Travel Refractor Telescope. Because it is designed to do just that. And to show you and your family the many scenic wonders that the Earth and the night sky have to offer!
