Full Lunar Eclipse
  • Details
    Date Taken: 12/21/2010
    Location: York, PA
Telescope: Orion 203mm f/4.9 Reflector Tube with Crayford-Style Focuser
Mount: Orion Atlas EQ-G Computerized GoTo Telescope Mount
Camera: Canon EOS Digital Rebel XS (DSLR)
    Processing: one x 4.0 seconds
Exposure: Cropped and Sharpened with Photoshop Elements 8.0
    Notes:

Photo was taken 31 minutes into the full lunar eclipse, when the Moon was at the center of the Earth’s shadow. What makes this photo interesting to me is that the background stars are clearly visible (they would of course normally be drowned out by the light of a full moon).

    Solar System 1st place photograph!
