The StarBlast 114mm AutoTracker GoTo Value Kit makes it easy for the whole family to enjoy night after night of stargazing fun with its combination of great telescope optics, motorized tracking mount, and computerized GoTo hand controller. The 114mm (4.5") aperture reflector telescope tube gathers a substantial amount of light, but remains nicely compact and portable. With its moderate focal length of 500mm and f/4.4 focal ratio, the StarBlast 114mm reflector will display detailed views of the Moon and planets like Jupiter, Saturn and Mars. Brighter galaxies, nebulas and star clusters of deep space are also well within reach of this wide-field reflector telescope.

An EZ Finder II reflex sight is included to help aim the telescope, and to help center GoTo system alignment stars. Two included 1.25" eyepieces (10mm and 25mm) provide two different magnifications (50x and 20x) right out of the box. A collimation cap is also included to help periodically align the telescope's reflecting optics. The portable StarBlast 114mm AutoTracker GoTo Value Kit can be taken almost anywhere you want to enjoy views of starry skies with computerized object-location and automatic tracking.

With the included GoTo Hand Controller attached, the StarBlast 114mm AutoTracker Reflector Telescope will locate objects in the night sky for you following a simple alignment procedure. Once and object is located, the AutoTracker Mount's internal motors will precisely track the target celestial object so it remains centered in the eyepiece. With the luxuries of GoTo object-location and automatic tracking, you can concentrate on observing night sky objects instead of constantly reorienting your telescope as the target object drifts out of your telescope eyepiece's field-of-view. You'll be able to discern more subtle features and details of celestial objects as you relax at the eyepiece without having to worry about manually repositioning the telescope to keep the object in sight.

On top of automated tracking and GoTo object location, the StarBlast 114mm AutoTracker GoTo Value Kit also features camera cruising functionality. This allows you to attach a Canon DSLR camera to the AutoTracker Mount using an included L-bracket for time-lapse photos, panoramic photos, and even to capture snapshots at select positions. A Canon shutter-release cable is also included for added convenience.

The included Computerized GoTo Hand Controller features an extensive database of over 42,000 interesting celestial objects to explore with the ease and luxury of GoTo location and pointing. Once attached to the StarBlast 114mm AutoTracker mount and after a quick alignment procedure, the Computerized GoTo Hand Controller will accurately point the AutoTracker mount and attached 114mm reflector telescope towards any visible object selected from its database. On any clear night, the GoTo hand controller will lead you and your StarBlast 114mm AutoTracker Reflector Telescope on an exciting tour of galaxies, star clusters, nebulas, double-stars, variable-stars, planets, and more. The Controller includes an RS-232 computer interface cable, wire clips, and mount attachment cables.

The sturdy included tripod will let you use the Orion StarBlast AutoTracker Altazimuth Mount anywhere you go - no table required! The Orion StarBlast AutoTracker Altazimuth Mount Tripod features a 3/8" threaded post centered on a thick aluminum plate on top of its central elevator shaft which can be threaded directly into a socket on the bottom of the AutoTracker Mount for secure attachment. Once attached, this tripod provides an adjustable height range of 18.5" to 44" for the StarBlast AutoTracker Altazimuth Mount. The tripod's central elevator post gives an additional 10-3/4" of height, if desired. A thick foam pad on one of the tripod legs makes carrying to and from your observing site nice and comfortable. This tripod allows you to use the StarBlast 114mm AutoTracker GoTo Value Kit in areas without a stable tabletop surface available.

Eight AA batteries are required for motorized operation of the included StarBlast AutoTracker Mount; or you can use an optional 12V, 2 amp power supply or AC Adapter (batteries and optional power supplies sold separately).
