    • A separately purchased T or D adapter ring is needed which will adapt your specific DSLR camera to the universal thread on the Alpen camera adapter
    • When you have the T or D adapter ring you can then remove the interchangeable lens from your DSLR camera. Then attach the T or D ring to the Alpen #827 camera adapter
    • To remove the camera you can simply detach from the camera adapters or remove the camera and adapters from the spotting scope
    • There is an adjustment knob on the Alpen camera adapter that can be loosened to enable you to turn your camera so it is positioned correctly on the scope

    The Alpen #827 DSLR camera adapter turns your Alpen 854ED or 856ED Rainier spotting scope into a telephoto lens with focal length of near 1000mm.  A separately purchased T or D adapter ring is needed which will adapt your specific DSLR camera to the universal thread on the Alpen camera adapter. You can find T or D adapter rings online or at your local camera store. When you have the T or D adapter ring you can then remove the interchangeable lens from your DSLR camera. Then attach the T or D ring to the Alpen #827 camera adapter. Attach this assembly to the Rainier spotting scope by removing the zoom eyepiece lens from the spotting scope. (There is a tab located at the bottom of the zoom eyepiece lens that must be activated in order to unlock the zoom eyepiece from the spotting scope). Then attach your camera (with the lens removed) to the adapter assembly. There is an adjustment knob on the Alpen camera adapter that can be loosened to enable you to turn your camera so it is positioned correctly on the scope. To remove the camera you can simply detach from the camera adapters or remove the camera and adapters from the spotting scope (bayonet style removal).
