Besides doubling the power of any telescope eyepiece, this premium-quality 1.25" 2x Orion Shorty-Plus Barlow Lens features a 3-element, fully multi-coated lens design that renders exquisite views without introducing additional chromatic aberration, or false coloration. Images appear sharper and more color-correct than with standard, achromatic Barlow lenses. The Orion Shorty-Plus 3-Element Barlow Lens is especially good for high-power lunar and planetary observing and for boosting magnification refractor and reflector telescopes with relatively short focal lengths.

To double the magnification of any 1.25” telescope eyepiece, simple insert the eyepiece barrel into the Shorty-Plus Barlow and secure in place with the thumbscrew on the Barlow lens body. Place the combination of eyepiece and Barlow lens into the telescope focuser, adjust focus, and enjoy the doubly-magnified view. For example, using the Shorty-Plus Barlow with a 25mm telescope eyepiece installed will yield the same magnification as a 12.5mm eyepiece (25/2 = 12.5). Your resulting overall magnification value will depend on the focal length of your telescope.      

The Orion Shorty-Plus 3-Element Barlow Lens is conveniently compact for versatile use with many telescopes and as an added bonus, it’s petitie size makes it easy to stow in your accessory case. The Shorty-Plus 1.25” barrel is not threaded for use with telescope eyepiece filters.
