The Orion SpaceProbe 3 Equatorial Reflector Telescope lets the whole family enjoy beautiful night sky treasures from the backyard. With this telescope and its 700mm focal length (f/9.2) you can view the cratered surface of the Moon, breathtaking rings of Saturn, and gigantic Jupiter along with its brightest moons. The SpaceProbe 3 Reflector's 3" diameter optics gathers enough light to view all of these things and more! You can even catch faint glows of some very exotic star clusters and nebulas of deep-space. The aluminum Newtonian reflector telescope tube features a smooth-adjusting 1.25" rack-and-pinion focuser to ensure precise focus adjustments and sharp views in both included eyepieces.

Use the two included Kellner eyepieces to view at different magnifications.

Each included eyepiece has a 1.25" barrel, which are better and more versatile than smaller .965" barrels you might find with department store telescopes. Insert the 25mm Explorer II eyepiece to achieve 28x magnification through the SpaceProbe 3 reflector. When you want to take closer look, center the object in the 25mm eyepiece's field of view, then swap out the 25mm eyepiece for the 10mm eyepiece to boost magnification all the way up to 70x.

The included Orion EZ Finder II red-dot sight makes aiming the SpaceProbe 3 EQ nice and easy.

Following a simple alignment procedure that parents can help with, the EZ Finder II sight can help you accurately aim the SpaceProbe 3 EQ telescope at objects in the sky like the Moon and bright planets. Once aligned with the telescope, just turn on the EZ Finder II and peer through the sight's small circular viewing window so you see the red dot, and move the telescope until the red dot is on the object you want to see. Look in the eyepiece and there's the object!

The SpaceProbe 3 Equatorial Reflector Telescope comes with the EQ-1 equatorial mount. This mount mimics our planets rotational axes, and allows easy manual "tracking" of celestial objects with included slow-motion control cables. An adjustable-height tripod with accessory tray and aluminum legs is also included with this feature-packed telescope. (The SpaceProbe 3, like all Newtonian Reflector telescopes, is not recommended for terrestrial viewing as images seen through it will appear upside-down).
